Great experience at the Cracker Barrel in Athens, AL. I was so happy they had impossible sausage as an option! Food, service, and coffee was excellent! My waitress, Amber, was very warm and attentive. If you’re passing through Athens definitely check this place out !

Wish I could add a picture of my food. I waited over an hour for a curbside order that I had to go in to get. Then they didn’t have broccoli casserole.. ok but they should have said that they didn’t have veggies at all because I barely got anything! The people were friendly and apologized. But getting home 16 miles away after waiting an hour for a veggie plate.. and it looked terrible.. was cold.. carrots not cooked. It is going down hill bad. Won’t be back.

Our server was Alex and she was fantastic (If available i would give her 10 stars). Very professional while being personable /friendly. It was so good we returned 2 days later only to have another awesome server Amanda. I would repeat my earlier sediments but don’t want to be redundant! The whole staff was awesome. One of the managers approached us to make sure we were happy and we could not sing the praises of the team enough. My wife even commented “now that is a good manager checking on customers”. I’m sure that her team is just following her excellent example!

Checked in at 1159, seated at 1220. Our waiter was great, but the time it took to get our food was horrible. There were only 2 in our party. I had the Grandmas breakfast platter, and she had mac and cheese Buffalo chicken. It was well after 1pm when we finally received our food. Several others that were seated around us, after we sat down, had already sat, ate, and left before we even received our plates. Our food didn’t even come out at the same time. I rarely give bad reviews, and I understand things happen, but there was no sense in it taking that long to get what we had ordered. Again, not blaming the waiter. He was great!

We have been coming here for 5 years on our way to Florida. Today we ordered meatloaf and the chicken and dumplings both with mashed potatoes and gravy. One brown gravy one sawmill. The first time they mixed it up. Then they fixed it they said. Went back to hotel and both had sawmill gravy only the one they put the sawmill over the brown gravy. That was uncalled for period. Very disappointed.

We picked up Thanksgiving lunch at this Cracker Barrel and were very happy with the quality and the ease of preparation. My wife had a stroke and therefore was unable to prepare the big meal. I was also unequipped to do so. So, having a delicious alternative that I could manage simply by putting items into the oven or on the stove top was quite nice. The decision to appeal to both stuffing and dressing eaters with the dressing was smart. The quality of the turkey breast was high. The texture of the cranberry sauce was great. The rolls reminded me of Sister Shubert, which I love. Just a great overall experience. The only minor negative was waiting 15 minutes beyond the allotted pickup time before someone came out to assist me. But everything else was fantastic.

We stopped at the cracker barrel in Athens, Alabama on our way to Florida. I would say this was the worst service ever. When we got seated we were treated like we were invisible. No one even asked if we would like a glass of water. Finally after sitting there for about 15 minutes a waitress from another section asked if anyone had been to our table yet. We said no and she said she would find out where our server was. We waited a while longer and still no server. The other servers just stood in the doorway to the kitchen looking to see if someone would go to our table. We walked out and the girl follows us out to the front and we told her that was terrible customer service and we were leaving. We will never be back to cracker barrel again. Customer service in this country is VERY lacking and it makes me think twice before spending my hard earned money in these establishments. Shame on you cracker barrel that you are not instilling customer service skills in your employees.

Cracker Barrel is upping their menu it seems. The Louisiana shrimp dish was fantastic! The rice had some uncooked pieces perhaps in an attempt to get a fried rice texture? Overall great dish. We had some fresh cornbread and biscuits, of course. Noah, our waiter, did a great job of taking care of us and was super friendly. In fact, all of our staff encounters were positive.
One negative – If you go in and there is a fire in the fireplace, you may come out smelling like smoke. Not sure what was going on but eyes were burning at one point and I’m somewhat surprised smoke detectors didn’t activate.

Had 2 meals at a CrackerBarrel in Athens Alabama, dinner and breakfast. We each got what we wanted: Shrimp for me, Fried Chicken for Hubby. Delicious food, great service, friendly employees. Breakfast, same thing! Excellent food and service! I would go back!

We ate breakfast. The bacon was floppy and undercooked. I told the waitress. She brought some more that was a little better. The potato casserole was crunchy and the biscuits were hard. Also, the gravy was watered down. The waitress left the check on top of the sugar container and didn’t tell me. Overall not a pleasant experience.
