We went as a party of 8 for lunch on a Saturday. Their is a small store as you walk in, which has plenty of nice stuff in it, though maybe a touch on the expensive side.
We were greeted friendily and seated quickly. A drinks order was taken as we perused the menu, which was extensive. After being unable to get their Saturday special of Louisianna ribs, I went with chicken tenders with sides if macaroni cheese and steak fries. Everything was delicious, couldn’t fault the food in the slightest. Our party had six different mains and everyone loved it.
The service was friendly and efficient, despite the restaurant being very busy.
Highly recommended.
Unfortunately, the food itself was a real disappointment. The macaroni and cheese came out completely ice cold, and the hash brown casserole had hot spots—some bites were warm while others were ice cold. The deep-fried turkey was the highlight of the meal and was genuinely very good, but the cornbread dressing had a strange aftertaste, almost like it had absorbed refrigerator odors. It was off-putting enough that I ended up sending some items back and asking for them to be taken off the bill.
When you’re paying for a premium holiday meal, you expect a premium experience. Sadly, I didn’t get that this time. I’m hopeful this was just an off night, but based on this visit alone, the quality has definitely gone downhill from what I remember.
The potatoes and beans were barely warm the meatloaf was cold as if it just came out of the refrigerator. None of the temperature were acceptable serving temperature. When I explained to the waitress she stated she would let the manager know. She stated the food came straight out of the warming box. The waitress told me there would be no charge. The manager never came to speak to me.. the manager’s need training on customer service and acceptable food temperatures for serving.
