This place is a hole in the wall, tucked inside a gas station convenience store , the kind of spot where you’d never expect to find the perfect fried pork. When I think fried pork, I picture greasy supermarket cuts, dripping oil with rubbery centers. This is something else…a perfect pork steak. The breaded crust is golden and crisp without a trace of grease, giving way to shockingly tender meat that’s moist, flavorful, and fresh. Every bite hits that rare balance of crunch and juiciness. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you rethink what fried pork can be. By the way, I don’t like fried food in general.

Yumm, pork tenderloins. These are an Iowa treat. Don’t get them much outside Iowa. This is on the side of a gas station cute little place. The staff was fast and friendly. The tenderloin was super tender and cooked just right. And it was huge! Way bigger than my hand. You can’t go wrong with Cracken’s Grill.

I’m an Iowan born and bred. I used to take for pork tenderloinsfor granted because… they were everywhere, always (Iowa has some of the best pork there is).
Now it seems like you have to hunt them down and if you find one quality is a toss up.
This was one of the most satisfying sandwiches I’ve had in a good long while. Maybe one of the best pork tenderloins in the State (I dont say that lightly), and at a very reasonable price tag.

The western burger is fantastic… had to throw an onion ring on it. The fried spicy chicken is a big slab of chicken and the breading is so perfectly minimal. The produce is fresh and ripe (lettuce, tomatoes, onions). The beans are a meal by themselves and very flavorful. And the fries are the fluffiest, most golden brown fries I have had from memory. This is how a burger joint should be. This is an amazing place, Ben. Keep it up, sir.

Today was my 2nd time getting food here. Both times were great. I’ve gotten quite a variety and everything has been good. They had a temporary soup a few weeks ago that was the best soup I’ve ever had. It was a Tomato with cheese stuffed Tortellini and man was it fantastic. They don’t have it anymore but everything we’ve tried is great. Great onion rings, great fries, great burgers, and especially great fried tenderloins and a fantastic Spicy Chicken Sandwich! The Spicy Chicken Sandwich even looked like an actual picture. LOL! It’s not often you have something that actually looks as advertised. I’ve included a picture of it. My picture doesn’t do justice to it. It’s a very large chicken breast. I will be returning to order this again. It’s so good! I’m leery about chicken being fully cooked and this was perfect! I should’ve taken a pic of the Breaded Tenderloin- it’s huge! And so tasty! Loved it! The onion rings were so delicious- tasted like they were cooked in fresh oil. And the House made Ranch is so good you could drink it! LOL! I had to have a small hot fudge Sundae, too. It hit the spot and was the perfect size. It comes with nuts & a cherry if you like, but I just like whipped topping only. It was very good! This place really should be a chain. It would go well anywhere. This is not located in a prominent spot, so I hope more people find it! It’s worth it! I’ll be back!

We have been frequent visitors to Cracken’s Grill. Love there fried tenderloin and patty melt. Just tried their new Mushroom Swiss Burger and it is the best! Hope it gets added to the regular menu as it might be my go-to for quite a while!!

Food was delicious especially the fries a crunchy exterior and fluffy inside. The chicken strips were very good and the ranch is that good good ranch. I have also had a burger from here before and that is AMAZING as well. GO GET YOU SUM!
