The Crab Shack at 23182 Richmond Turnpike in Ruther Glen, VA, was recommended by a friend, so we called and ordered crab for a family gathering last weekend. Asked if we could pick them up at 11:30AM (they open at 11AM) and got a thumbs up, so we drove there to pick the crabs up at that time. 1/2 bushel of #1s for a family crab & steak BBQ.
It was a perfect purchase! The crabs were ready right on time. They were good crabs; all heavy and most seemed to have been peelers of one stage or another. All were well seasoned.
1/2 bushel was enough for our family, then we were able to pick a couple pounds from the leftovers (pictured) and made fantastic crab cakes too!
Will definitely be back for more next time we need them.
