I came in a little under an hour before closing, so I understand service might be winding down — but even so, I expected a better experience, especially at this price point.
I ordered two drinks (a cosmopolitan and an upside-down pineapple cocktail), which came out to about $30. The cosmopolitan wasn’t made correctly and was served in a plastic cup, which really took away from the experience. At that price, I expect drinks to be made properly and served in the correct glassware.
The biggest issue, though, was with the seafood boil. One of the mussels had a thick, grey, fuzzy layer on it. When I brought it to the manager’s attention, I was told it was “algae and seaweed.” I couldn’t bring myself to finish the meal after that. The server was fine, but I do wish he had offered something — a replacement, discount, or at least an apology — considering the situation.
Disappointed overall, and I’m not sure I’d return based on this experience.

Good food and portions for a good price, but you must be specific when you have kids or they will give you an adult meal. I had two smaller children with me both under 10, ordered both of them juice and kids meals but was given adult meals. When I told the waitress these were supposed to be kids meals with drinks included, I was told to be more specific because she didn’t know they were to be kids meals. It’s a nice place, other than that issue

Stopped in around 9 PM for dine-in, but decided to come back another time. I didn’t actually eat because the automatic 15% gratuity caught me off guard. I don’t mind tipping, but I prefer when policies like that are mentioned up front. I’ll return another day, just wanted to share my experience

Calamari was super greasy and it was pooled at the bottom of the dish. The crab cakes were over cooked. Ive definitely been to better seafood places.

First time at Crab du jour, we were in the mood for a “non typical” lunch. We were impressed from beginning to end. We ordered 1lb black mussels as an appetizer in the house sauce- du jour special, and mild. Came out in the infamous bag, which the lady who brought it out opened for us. They were amazing! That sauce… and large mussels! Let me say, lip smacking good. The two of us shared the bag, which in all honesty probably could be shared between four people. That filled me up; however, didn’t stop me from ordering the fried fish basket, and my other half ordered the fried oyster po’ boy, we each chose the Creole fries. Let me tell you, the catch of the day fish they used for my fish basket.. amazing! Absolutely delish. Crispy outside, buttery soft, flaky inside. Best fried fish I have had in a while. My husband enjoyed his po’ boy, even the roll it was served in. We were already talking about our next trip there and what we will be ordering. The prices were great too,, especially for being both seafood and the portions served. Our waiter was great, he was entertaining and friendly, and the service was awesome. The outdoor dining area was nice, especially on a nice day.
Update: went back with our daughter for lunch since she loves crawfish, she ordered a bag with the mild crab du jour sauce with broccoli added in. She loved it. The shrimp and mussel bag in the crab du jour sauce medium, was awesome. The fried fish basket was crispy, light and delicious. There does seem to be unfriendly staff, both times we have been we had two different hosts and both were less than inviting. It is also obviously more of a party scene at night, which when we arrived the following afternoon was still being cleaned up. However, with the value of the food and have having experienced a friendly and great server, I wouldn’t knock a star off.

We’ve ordered here twice a week for the past three weeks. Crab Du Jour is a great restaurant to order seafood from! It’s been a major pregnancy craving of mine, and I am always so pleased to get crabs delivered quickly to our door.
We did experience one time when we ordered calamari, and they gave us mozzarella sticks instead, but still charged us for the calamari. I was shocked to see that they even reprinted our receipt to say that we ordered mozzarella sticks. Thankfully, I had my email confirmation from Uber Eats. Then, when I called, they said they would not deliver it, but we had to go pick up the correct portion of our order.
Aside from that occurrence, we will continue to order from Crab Du Jour.

One of the better places we’ve eaten at since moving to Delaware! I ordered the seafood boil, and while the portions weren’t huge, the flavor was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the beer selection, especially the one from Down East. The kids’ menu was great, and our son even had leftovers for the next day!
The fried blue crab was delicious, but they could definitely improve the portion sizes in that area. Our server was really friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food. Overall, a pleasant dining experience that I would recommend!

First time eating at this restaurant. The food was ok nothing special I think the prices were too high. Not a good value. The service was ok. They add the 20% gratuity up front. We got a shrimp and crayfish boil, shrimp and fish basket and crab meat Po Boy. Oh and fried calamari for appetizer. Don’t think I’ll go back. Also when the chairs are moved they are so loud scratching across the floor. They should put some felt pads on them. It was a bit annoying cuz the hostest was setting up behind us for a larger party. We couldn’t hear each other because of the chairs screeching across the floors.
