July 2024: Returned to try lunch! Burger and fries are just okay, but honestly, for less than $10, I am perfectly fine with just okay. Maybe I’d go with a local burger stand instead, but it’s fun to drop in here just for the atmosphere. Breakfast is definitely better, though.

OMG this place is adorable. It looks like it’s passed through time back to the 1970s, and it’s such a tiny diner! I need to go back just for a picture alone of the interior, but the food was good enough that I want to try lunch, too. Service was efficient and welcoming, and those menu prices have not seen an update in years, either, praise the lord.
Had a Denver omelette (I think), but I asked for bacon instead of ham – no problem at all with that substitution. I’m going to ask for the bacon crispy next time, but the omelette was otherwise great. I kind of love that they only do American cheese here.
Would I have liked more options than wheat bread with barely any butter? YES (I should have added some jam). But this place has caught my fancy, for sure.

We just had breakfast at the Cozy Kitchen coffee shop – in a little stripmall at the corner of Washington & Bradick in San Leandro. It’s a tiny classic diner, serving basic breakfasts at the most reasonable prices around. Been around forever, run by the same little couple (ever since our friend was a boy & ate here with his family). Husband cooks. Wife runs tables. Well-worn furnishings from decades of diners make it feel like a step back in time. It is the CLEANEST restaurant I’ve EVER been in – evidence of pride/care/lifelong work ethic. There’s nothing fancy on the menu, but if you’re looking for bacon & eggs on a budget around Oakland, CA – this is the place. Period. Come support these folks!

This place is sparkling clean. The food was great and at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere..cozy and low key just like the name suggest. Very relaxing. Would highly recommend!

I had a great experience here this morning on 6/17/2025. Me and my trainer wanted to eat breakfast and we had a delivery next door on dollar tree, so we went in, we were warmly greeted. Had our menus within a couple minutes, and when we ordered our breakfast was made to order. Haven’t had a great experience at any other breakfast place like this one. I suggest you come here and try there bacon eggs and toast, sunny side up. With a side of pancakes. Wash it down with a cup of Joe! Hopefully you can have a similar experience as I did

This is very basic 1960,s style Cafe, a small menu , don’t expect anything extra as was stated by the server “only what see on menu ” , however the plate was prepared well portions are small but they match the prices. Quite atmosphere limited seating but clean well kept . Mom & Pop shop .

The food is decent. However, the Asian woman that has worked there for years is extremely unfriendly and borderline rude. She gives off the most unwelcome look and tone that I felt completely uncomfortable eating in this café. If this means nothing to you, by all means have at it. For myself, I don’t go places to enjoy a meal and get treated with a server that treats customers like we have no business entering this establishment. There are other local places with comparable food in the same price range that offer much friendlier service. I suggest would suggest going to Elios, Mels Diner, the Fifth Wheel, or some other local place where you will definitely feel a lot more welcomed than this place!

It is just as the name says, it is Cozy. Not very big but it doesn’t have to be. It is just a comfortable unassuming place to sit down and enjoy a meal. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives some day. Great little hole in the wall cafe.

Definitely your classic mom and pop diner. Always good food, reasonably priced (especially for the Bay Area), and we usually wait no more than 5-10 minutes to be seated. Definitely a bummer that they’re closed Sundays, but everyone deserves a couple days off. Overall it’s a great place to eat breakfast or lunch, and always good service and food.
