Once again the Cozy Grape comes through w an awesome meal and evening. This evening we were treated to saxaphone music by a young artist. Wow!
Tried the Tomatillo Enchiladas which were excellent. This is becoming our go to place.

YUM!!! Chicken potpie lunch special was amazing. Loaded with fresh chicken, peas, carrots chunks;… with a nice little pastry crust top. Obviously made from scratch, with care. Packed with protein! Loved it. Top notch service too. Highly Recommend They also have an excellent crème brûlée!

Pay attention to the bad reviews as The Cozy Grape has earned every one of them. As the food and drinks were ok, our waitress was great but the hostess / possibly manger was incredibly rude. At first she was very pleasant but that changed quickly. My wife and I were enjoying some well deserved us time, order cocktails, two drinks but we were not fast enough for the hostess. We had been there an hour when she came to our table and said she was placing our order because there was a 2 hour time limit. Keep in mind we were one of only 3 tables in the dining room. A table near us when leaving said to us “ I would not put up with that” and we didn’t. Got the tab and tip over 20% as the waitress earned it. When leaving I realized I had forgotten our umbrella and went back to retrieve it. The hostess had locked the door! Obviously she has had unsatisfied customers before. I spent 25 years in the restaurant business (never fast food) front of house and back and never even heard of that type of rudeness occurring. Please don’t spend your hard earned money at this establishment.

I ate there recently. The short rib and sauce were amazing and really tender! We also had the goat cheese pizza and added chicken and mushrooms. They packed the toppings and tasted great! Great food!

Two soups were delicious. Tostadas were laughably plain and embarrassing to serve. An 8-year-old could have made those tostadas. Creme Broulee was average. Service was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Had a wonderful experience. The lamb shank was tasty and tender. The staff were all very friendly, from the hostess who spoke French to the individuals that helped with our table. Would definitely recommend. There also seemed to be several returning patrons, that the staff knew by name. That’s definitely a testiment to their hospitality. The crème brûlée was perfect, and wine selection always also a positive.

WOWEEE rudest customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I say customer experience because we were planning on going to have wine and food inside after a photo shoot. Unfortunately as we walked to the cars afterwards a man claiming to be the owner starts screaming at us because we parked our cars at his restaurant. The man followed us and filmed us yelling insults. Way to be hospitable to almost paying customer. Great way to drive customers away from an already dying business.

We stumbled on this place while browsing shops in the downtown area. It was amazing. We got the escargot and cheddar jalapeno soup for starts. Both tasty. The soup was the right spice level and not too creamy. Lamb Shank entree was amazing. Meat was falling off the bone. The service was also fantastic. Friendly, good at checking in.

Wonderful French atmosphere and excellent menu..I have enjoyed the authentic cuisine and experience for many years.. Such an unexpected restaurant here in the small town of Montgomery, Texas.. But is fast, becoming a much larger community.. I’m always pleased to see that Cozy Grape remains a good old school standard for excellent food in Montgomery…great wine menu as well.. And the escargo is my favorite appetizer.. So few restaurants know how to really prepare it and serve it with garlic toast.. Put this unique place on your bucket list..

I’m 40, went with my mom for dinner on a weeknight a couple months ago. Wasn’t busy, food came quick. Everything was bland. Server, while decent, wasn’t aware of certain things – like refilling drinks, checking on us after a few bites, etc. The hostess seemed like the manager and was terse, not warm. The green beans were undercooked (yuck) and everything else was under seasoned and just meh (especially for the price).
The worst part of our experience was that at least one of the owners, an older white man, was sitting across the dining room with some buddies or colleagues drinking and talking loudly. It was annoying, we learned that one of them was the owner. Then a few slurs about brown people (of whom there are many in the kitchen) were said outloud – and loud enough for us across the dining room to hear. It made my stomach drop. By the end of our meal it was just us and them in the main area of the dining room – I’m sure they didn’t even notice us, patrons, aware of their too-loud-we-own-this-place conversation. It was off-putting. I’ve worked in many restaurants where the owners/managers drink and chat at the end of the night – but they always do it away from patrons. This just seemed like owners that are WAY too comfortable and not taking their business seriously – while the food and service were both subpar – and they were probably drinking and eating “on the house”. Not the place I want to give my money and business to.
