Not too many Peruvian spots in North County so we’ve been checking them off the list one by one and thus far, Coya beats them all! Very small and beautiful ambience under a mature bougainvillea tree, impeccable service, and the authentic delicious Peruvian food! Highly recommend the fried yucca sticks, the lomo saltado and the mariscos. All incredibly flavorful and fresh. Easy pull in street parking is available in front of the restaurant however there is also parking in the back of the restaurant as indicated on their website. The Del Mar civic center also has a very convenient free parking garage within walking distance of Coya. Will definitely be back!

This is our favorite Peruvian food spot in San Diego. We got the classic ceviche, octopus, lomo saltado, chicha sangria and morada, molten lava cake and lucuma flan – every dish was phenomenal. We also had the best service from Rodrigo – thank you for being so kind and amazing. It’s a more intimate spot with nice music and lighting, perfect for date nights or any occasion really. We’ll be back soon.

Excellent peruvian food in Del Mar! Fresh ceviche, one of the best ones I’ve had in a while. Chicha and lucuma flan were also delightful. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant I will bring my family next time.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Live music was a surprise for a Tuesday, a great ambience. We shared four dishes between the two of us. Three sharables and a entree. Food was delicious, everything we ordered has distinctive flavors and was cooked perfectly. We will come back.

Fresh, unique flavors, and large portions for a great price! Wow, can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu SO GOOD. We had the ceviche Classico and the tamales and the squid ink risotto all split between two people. The seafood was fantastic!!! The ambience felt like you were in a different world in the heart of Delmar. The service was attentive and very accommodating even on a busy Saturday night. can’t wait to come back!

A True Taste of Peru at Coya in Del Mar ✨

If you’re craving real Peruvian food in San Diego, look no further than Coya in Del Mar. As someone who knows and loves authentic Peruvian flavors, I was absolutely blown away by the quality, freshness, and heart in every dish.

We ordered the ceviche — hands down the best I’ve had outside of Peru. Perfectly balanced, bright, and just the right amount of heat. The shrimp causa was equally incredible: creamy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite reminded me of the dishes I used to enjoy with Peruvian chefs in Miami.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of Peruvian food or trying it for the first time, Coya is a must-visit. Worth every penny and every mile. I’ll definitely be back.

The food was delicious . Every dish looked like a work of art, colorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ceviche was refreshing with just the right balance of citrus and spice, and the lomo saltado was rich, savory, and cooked perfectly. You can really taste the care and authenticity. Service was fast and decor is Instagram worthy. Highly recommend it.

Tucked away like a true hidden gem, this spot feels like a little escape from the city. The décor is charming, and the outdoor seating sets a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere right from the start.

We ordered the Ceviche Clásico, half chicken, and a glass of chicha morada. As someone who’s quite picky about ceviche, I was blown away — this might be my new favorite in San Diego. Bright, citrusy, with just the right kick of spice and unique touches like choclo, it was perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying.

The half chicken arrived with generous portions of tender, flavorful meat, accompanied by fragrant rice and a delicious house sauce. It was far more abundant than expected — easily enough for two.

Service was warm and attentive (special thanks to Julia for her kindness), which made the entire experience all the more memorable.

Overall, this restaurant delivers both quality and heart. A must-try for anyone who loves Peruvian flavors done right. We’ll absolutely be back.

Plus- the 4 Leches dessert was scrumptious. And the chicha sangria everything was great!

Dog friendly outdoor cafe, adorable interior, friendly staff, and unique food. Came here about a year ago during a work trip and had to bring my sweetie for a most romantic dining experience. It was also wonderful the way our pooch was treated too.

We shares the Chaufa (gluten free) octopus shareable dish, wonderful drinks, and 4 leches dessert with salted caramel gelato. Hard to beat. Que bueno!

I stopped by while traveling alone, and it turned out to be such a great experience.
I ordered a Peruvian beer and the beef dish (Lomo saltado, I think), and both were absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and parking was easy too.
Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re in the area and want authentic Peruvian food.
