Suggestions:
• Mushroom sauce was too light, not salty enough.
• Pork wasn’t soft enough.
• No soup, no salad, no bread—those are the soul of a Taiwanese sizzling combo. A little pricey without them.
• We didn’t see any customers dining in between 5–6:20 pm on Monday night. In Rowland Heights and Hacienda Heights, competition is tough and customers are very sensitive about food quality and price.
Decent spot for Taiwanese comfort food, but some dishes need improvement.
Note to improve: Black pepper sauce could use more kick.
Overall good comfort food for sure .
While the food tastes great, no complaints as far as taste goes, but it’s not value packed for the price. This style usually will come with a soup and salad with garlic toast and maybe a drink depending on where you go. But Cowboy gives you none of that for dinner. I think they could add some value to their current meal set. But doubt this would happen anytime soon becusse there’s not many places that serve this style ( only one other place besides here) so if you want it. I guess just gotta pay the price
We came a few minutes after 5 pm on Saturday, right before the dinner rush. They have 2-top, 4-top and 6-top tables and booths, so if you’re in a larger group, you’ll have to split up your group. We got the second to last open table for 2.
Our order taker was very helpful, urging us to get our order in before the group of 10 gets theirs in. We got the rib eye hot plate ($19.99) and filet mignon hot plate ($24.99), both cooked medium with black pepper sauce and served with spaghetti. The hot plate includes a drink too, so we picked the black tea (opted out of the $1 upgrade). Everything was so good. Our favorite of the two was definitely the filet mignon!
The menu is all by QR code. Parking is plentiful in the large lot.
We ordered 3 teppanyaki dishes and were seated at a large 4-person table. When he brought the hot teppanyaki over, I told him he could place it anywhere on the table. Instead of using the open space in the middle, he put the sizzling hot plate directly in front of my daughter, less than an inch from her hand and arm. It was very close to burning her. He showed no concern, no apology, and kept a bad attitude the whole time.
Thankfully nothing happened, but this could have been a serious accident. Handling hot dishes with such carelessness around children is unacceptable. We left very disappointed and will not return.
It is definitely something more traditional that you don’t see often here in America so it is a nice comfort food. However, because there are so many various Hong Kong Cafe that also sells food such as this, it makes the competitiveness and also the pricing less competitive here.
The prize is slightly a bit more expensive than anticipated for a meal however, the servers are really nice and the place is pretty clean.
The food was to die for. I probably wouldn’t come back unless I want some comfort food. This is a quick dine in and dine out kind of place.
I will definitely come back if I need to take another Taiwanese friend over here for some food
The parking is here with the plaza and they have bathroom in here
They do accept credit card as well just not American Express
However, they don’t offer free salad and soup anymore… I prefer the previous location, because the ventilation in the new place is awful, it has a strong oil smoke smell, and not to mentioned when there’s someone with a bad body odor, it really ruin the dine-in experience.
