Who would’ve known they have the BEST Texas BBQ in Costa Rica?! It was very juicy and tender. The vibes are very chill. The prices were reasonable and all the staff was friendly and helpful. My kids and I also spent time talking with the owner and they loved hearing his stories and life hacks. I would definitely recommend!

Cowboy BBQ in Playa Hermosa is such a great little find! It’s a small barbecue spot just off the highway, and it’s absolutely worth the stop. The chili was incredible, hearty, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The brisket was also delicious, tender, and full of that perfect smoky flavor.
The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality you get. It’s the kind of laid-back spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and perfect for a casual meal. If you’re in Playa Hermosa or driving through, definitely swing by Cowboy Barbecue!

My nephew and I went here for the first time. Everything about this place screams Cowboy. We were greeted by the owner then directed where to go to order. Shortly after ordering our food arrived and it smelled so good. And we weren’t disappointed at all. We will return with the whole family.

By far, the best BBQ we have ever had. It was so good, my husband had two brisket plates & a bowl of Texas chili. I had a chicken leg plate with Coleslaw. Everything was fall off the bone tender and absolutely amazing. We were sad that this was our last day, but we’re already looking forward to coming back!
We also spoke with James, the owner, at dinner. He was so nice & had the coolest outlook. Highly recommend a visit!

I never thought I’d find the best Texan BBQ in Costa Rica..but this is the real deal. 15 Min from Jaco beach, 5 min up the road from Terraza Del Pacifico in Playa Hermosa(Jaco), next to a lovely family run souvenir shop, this is the real deal, The beef brisket slow smoked and the pulled port were divine. With a BBQ sauce I could drink. Damn. We made a second visit before we had to head home to Canada. This will be your best beef brisket. Perfectly rendered fat, tender beef, Not overpowering on the smoke. And the BEER is frosty! Great service, loved chatting about the pit. We will be chasing this BBQ dragon.

Nicely smoked meats prepared by James and served by Emily! Please try the ribs and brisket! They were even nice enough to prepare food to go for us and our doggies! They have a full bar also.

Not just the food, but also the vibe is amazing. I’ve watched the series Yellowstone and I felt teleported there. We stayed in Jaco 2 days and we ate every day here. If we would have stayed one more day, for sure we would have come here also the 3rd time! ✨

Good BBQ, is hard to find here. Jim, does it good. I ate the brisket baked potato, it was so good i went again the next day, and also got a take home order. Must try it!
