This was an unexpected find during a road trip. Fun converted restraunt/bar that looks like a great place to catch a game. We went on Saturday afternoon. Let’s start with the plus side. Great flexibility with menu. Although they have a variety of named specials, build a burger is really easy. The single patty (calf tipper) was plenty and I added bacon which came with a generous portion that was done to the perfect crispness. Also generous was the helping of tots. My wife also had a generous helping of onion rings with her burger. While portions were generous, we both detected an additional flavor of what we suspect was from another item done in the same fryer. I wouldn’t call it bad, but it just didn’t quite taste right. With the open faced nature of the sandwich, it was disappointing to see such pale green yellow lettuce with my condiments. Having experience in food service as well, I wouldn’t have served it. I wasn’t a fan of the BBQ sauce they use at Cow Tippers, but I’ll chalk that one up too personal preference. And finally, the staff was super friendly, but for as busy as it seemed, the time it took to get our food felt longer than needed. On the whole it got the job done at a reasonable cost, but it might be awhile before WE’LL BE BACK.

A colleague and I decided to go for lunch. We arrived at 11:36 and were quickly seated.
At 11:39, our drink and food orders were taken. It went down hill from there.
We both ordered soup and sandwiches, one water, and a tea. It took about 5 minutes to get the drinks. The water had to be changed out for a Sprite because it tasted like dish water.
At this point it is important to mention that a group of six and a group of eight came in about 5 minutes after us. We watched in amazement as their food arrived on their table before ours considering it was mostly burgers.
After helping serve their food, the waitress finally came back to our table and realized we still had no food and needed refills. I believe her words were simply “I’m so sorry, let me see about your food”. I couldn’t tell if she forgot or was embarrassed.
Finally at 12:17, we received our sandwiches and cold soup. We did not send it back because at this point it seemed a waste of more time to do so.
To add perspective to my disappointment on the service and experience, the two large groups were leaving the parking lot right after we got our food.
The waitress came back to our table and apologized for the delay in getting our food. She said she would have the meal discounted. I did not ask for a discount, nor did I expect one. I find it hard to leave a true review if you do. It’s a good thing because when we got the bill, it was still full price.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience despite the fact that they have 4.4 stars.

We came to town to visit General Coffee State Park and were looking for a fun place to eat with our kids. We found Cow Tippers… so good! Service was quick and the food was delicious. Love the name of the restaurant as well.

There were three of us during a fairly busy lunch rush. We were greeted and seated quickly by friendly staff and a drink and appetizer order was taken. The drinks took a while to arrive and our food took exceptionally long but the app never came at all. We inquired when the food arrived. She checked and said it was entered but a ticket didn’t print. Hmmmm – Ok … tech sometimes lets us down.
My friends had the pork chop and chicken sandwiches, which they said were good. I had the calf burger (1 patty) and fries. Now I enjoy a smashed patty with a nice brown crust, but this one was smashed so thin, literally maybe 1/8″ and so overcooked, it was nothing but crunchy crust. How does a specialty joint known for burgers at the price point charged put out something that bad? Maybe it was a one off, but in addition, all three of our orders of fries were just a couple degrees warmer than being called stone cold.
I don’t think one bad experience should condemn a place forever. So I may give it another shot on my next trip to town.

Should you ever find yourself in Douglas,GA, this is a must stop and try restaurant! The mushroom Swiss burger with onion rings was absolutely incredible! If I lived here, I would be a regular. Also had an order of lemon pepper wings that rank right up there with the best I’ve ever had.

Finally! A burger place with a spicy burger as advertised! Diablo burger loaded with jalapeño, Chipotle mayo, and hot sauce with pepper jack cheese. REAL burgers, not frozen patty meat. Wife had the mushroom Swiss and loved it as well. Outdoor seating for us with our dogs was MOST appreciated. Definitely worth a stop… or two.

This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last.
The service was great. The atmosphere was wonderful and my hamburger was delicious. My only criticism was the patty was very thin.

Good food, good vibes. This little spot was the cutest, it’s an old house that was transformed. I had lunch with a friend. I had the Cluck Norris chicken sandwich and fries. It was fried to perfection, and it wasn’t a small piece of chicken either. I was so hungry, I forgot to snap a Pic. I will definitely be revisiting. You have to check them out, they have a full bar and outside seating, it’s just a nice vibe.

Some of the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. In an old house, this restaurant is a fun and interesting atmosphere, and the food is great. Had the double patty breakfast burger with the fried egg and pimento cheese, and added bacon. Absolutely fantastic. Tator tots were nice and crispy too.
The young lady who served us couldn’t have been more sweet and respectful, with sir and ma’am in every answer. Can’t wait to go back here next time I’m in town.
