We visited Cow & Sow for the first time this lunchtime & were both very impressed. The steak was perfect, both the rib eye and the flat iron. The sides were on another level and the cocktails/drinks were also top tier.

Probably one of the best steaks I’ve had out in the UK – and in comparison to a similar, popular, restaurant – Pasture, I personally think Cow & Sow is superior. It’s a shame we don’t have a branch in Cardiff, but I’ll be sure to come back when I’m in Bristol or visit when I’m working away in Birmingham next.

The service was also brilliant, served by Jamie and Erik and they both gave a genuine, personable service. Great recommendation from Erik on the brisket starter.

Overall, extremely impressed and we will be back. I don’t usually leave reviews but felt our experience had to be shared. Look forward to trying the Sunday roast soon too.

We came here for a belated Valentine’s Day treat, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we were seated, we were welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne, a lovely touch that set the tone for the evening. The service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, making us feel genuinely well looked after.

The menu offered an excellent selection, and we decided on the sharing steak, which turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A wonderful experience from start to finish, and we’ll definitely be returning.

Cow and Sow delivered a genuinely wonderful experience. The meat was excellent, and the sharing platters are a real highlight — great quality, well put together, and ideal if you want to try a few different cuts.

Service was spot on throughout: friendly, attentive, and well paced. The overall selection is impressive and makes it easy to build a meal that feels special without being fussy.

Absolutely worth a visit. It’s not quite my fav in Bristol but not far off

We had a really excellent family meal at the Cow & Sow including one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Whilst it’s not cheap you absolutely get what you pay for. Every dish was delicious and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding, especially the meat as you would expect.

All the staff were friendly and attentive but a special mention for our waitress Liv who was brilliant. She was warm, charming and anticipated out needs before we did – really outstanding service so thank you!

Would definitely recommend for meat lovers or anyone looking to treat themselves to a special meal out.

Excellent service, well presented food, delicious and great quality food experience.

Staff attentive from the moment of arriving to leaving. An enjoyable atmosphere.

Only one comment drinks priced on the high side (its not London) could be moderately lower to meet customer expectations. Didn’t expect to pay for bottled tap water. Sparkling was in house produced not an established popular bottle brand.

However a lovely good all round experience and would return. A great night.

I find that steakhouses can be underwhelming, and this wasn’t an exception.
To start on a positive note, the chips, alongside the oxtail croquettes, were amazing !!!! Both the stars of the show.
The other sides we ordered, Mac and cheese, broccoli gratin and the sauces were also good. The caramel tart dessert was 10/10.
On the other hand, the pork belly starter was not good. The meat was very dry and there was a ‘crispy’ layer sprinkled on top but whatever this was did nothing for the dish, it seemed like it was just hard pieces that were hard to chew and not crispy at all.
My partner and I both ordered medium rare ribeye, unfortunately my steak was overcooked a level or two above his despite us ordering the exact same. As I usually order, rare but the waiter recommend I had medium rare due to the type of steak, this was quite disappointing.

The service was also rather disappointing as we did not receive adequate attention or care throughout our meal, with dirty dishes left on our table for a while. This is not something I would usually complain about however the restaurant was quite empty at this point. Our dessert was also forgotten about for over half an hour.

Side note- I went to use the bathroom and when pulling up the lid the entire seat fell clean off on to the floor…
I just think for a restaurant as expensive and prestigious certain standards should be upheld.

Had a lovely birthday meal for my dad here. The servers were friendly and go out of their way to provide 10/10 service. They overheard us mentioning his birthday and surprised him with a birthday plate without us asking. It was very sweet of them to do. The food was great – one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I recommend the onion blossom!

Becs and Jamie were outstanding. Their Service was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in until we left. The food didn’t disappoint neither. Myself and my friend was very delighted and left feeling satisfied. Also they are on First Table so you can get a great bargain.

We had our first trip to Cow and Sow this evening for my husband’s birthday, and had a lovely experience.

We ordered a sharer steak, which we thought was good value and was cooked to perfection. The bone marrow butter was divine, and a perfect peppercorn sauce.
For sides as had the hispi cabbage and dauphinois.

The sharer steaks take around 49 mins, so we also had some pork belly whilst we waited, which was delicious.

We’d like to give a special mention to our waitress Becks, who was lovely, and was both attentive, but gave us the space to enjoy our meal. She also told us about a wine deal they had on which saved us nearly £20 on our bill, so very thankful for that.

They also gave my husband a special glass of fizz as it was his birthday. We’ll be back!

Me and my partner came here for the first time for our 6 year anniversary. The service was amazing, talking us through the process and suggesting what they think is best for us, also every staff member who approached us said happy anniversary which was lovely! We were given a free prosecco each to celebrate and some free sides that we didn’t ask for which really gave us the whole experience. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family☺️ thank you to everyone there!
