Went out to celebrate my wife’s birthday and wanted to try someplace new. By the name of the place, I guess I expected a better menu. I was a little disappointed with the usual pub food. The food was ok. Actually, the hummus plate appetizer was very good with a bit of a charcuterie plate vibe. Wings were a good size. I thought the French onion soup looked good when it came out but they said it was nothing impressive. Maybe our expectations were too high going in. If it was called Joe’s Bar, I’d probably be more on par with what we had. There were three beer specials… all summer beers, and they were out of one of them. It was taco night but buffet style. It didn’t look the freshest, so we passed on it. Even the music was the same 3 artists, Toby Kieth, Rascal Flats, and George Strait over and over again. Overall, a decent place for bar food but we weren’t impressed with anything in particular.

The setting is “cozy” and relaxed, the live music was good, and importantly, not over powering where you feel you need to yell to have a conversation. The food was really good and the price wasn’t crazy. Although I am probably 35 minutes away from this location, I passed it many times going to Blue Mountain, so I did know where it was located when my wife and I were asked to meet up there for dinner. Now that I’ve been there, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Got the Steak & Shrimp, the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, and started with Jalapeño Poppers with seasonal cocktails.

I didn’t take a pic of the poppers but they were the highlight, imo. Every part of the meal was great (and seemed fresh and house-made).

The total price for 2 people was $90. That was 2 entrees, an appetizer, and 4 cocktails, so it’s a comparably affordable option considering the quality.

Update- Husband and I returned to dine here tonight. We had a wonderful experience. The place was packed and the music was live again! We ate indoors this time, our server was Carli and she was absolutely perfect!! The food was incredible. I had the crab Louie special which was fresh and delicious. Hubby had wings which he said were great I didn’t try them. It was a full house and the service was a 10!! We will be back.

Had a fine Sunday dinner here. Got seated and served promptly, and was impressed with both the food and the staff. My only real complaint is that they were out of both coconut cake and carrot cake!

Had such a great time there playing songs with the house band and, on a day I’ll always remember, watching the Birds win a Super Bowl. They had a brass band there to not only celebrate touchdowns, but to play during the insufferable TV ads. Love everything about this place.

We come back time and time again. The food is great. The drinks always good and the service is always friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem.

I must say that if I had written this review last year or the year before it would have been a lot better.

Here is what I like about CBI: the outdoor seating and decor is fun and cozy, its a great place to bring a crowd in good weather.

We used to hit it up on a bike ride or for trivia, but something changed this year. The food selections are less appetizing, and the food got more expensive. As someone with lots of food allergies and Celiac, Im not used to finding a lot that I can eat on a menu, but this year there was absolutely noting on the menu I could eat, so I only made it there once this summer (and went hungry).

Hopefully they will be a little more thoughtful with the menu next summer, but for now, its been scratched off my list.

I’d say hidden treasure of Palmerton. My wife’s name is Karena(rare unique name) our waitress was also named Correna. That make only 3 other people with the “samiular” name

We had the most AWESOME meal at the CBI! Our first get together here for my birthday. The menu on Google is not their menu. For some reason they can’t change it from the previous owner. Their current menu is actually BETTER! Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Great burger AND bun, house made chips, broiled haddock, cheesesteak, stuffed mushrooms, pierogies, Philly cheesesteak roll, sweet potato fries with honey lime Chipotle sauce, salad, French onion soup etc…. we will DEFINITELY be back again. We had a wonderful time. LOVED it! They are remodeling & putting in 8 rooms upstairs as a B&B for skiers. And will have a ramp & handicap bathroom also. They have live music some evenings also.
