We arrived on the later side of breakfast. Wasn’t too busy, and was seated right away. They did have a buffet, however at the time that we arrived we elected to order something from the menu.
The offering variety was decent, some of the dishes felt a little over priced but not by much. Order the country breakfast with scrambled eggs. The food is what you would find if you cooked at home. Scrambled eggs for firm, bacon was crisp.
No real bells and whistles here, just good food. There was some neet decor, interesting paintings and even had a bar that you can sit at if you were alone. Well worth the trip.

We will definitely be back! Great outdoor seating options. The food was excellent. Had the crab cake sandwich with fries, and the cold plate.
Service was slightly slow and had to wait a while for condiments and refills. Other than that, it’s a great spot and slower pace.

I had dinner there last night. Pulled pork sandwich with macaroni salad. Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. All great. Waitress was also. I enjoyed chatting with her.

There’s a reason this restaurant has been here for 30 years. They provide consistent quality and good value. We were quickly seated and served with our drinks. Our food was served hot and ready to eat. Our meals were delicious.

My husband and I go here often. Especially on Sundays. The people are friendly and the food is great. Everyone is friendly. Like going to Grandma’s house for a good country homemade meal. Nobody beats their fried chicken and green beans!

We were here to see The Taters band and they were great. First time at County Seat and we were very impressed. Looks like they have a very nice buffet that many seemed to be enjoying. I instead ordered the oysters and was very pleased. Good mashed potatoes a gravy too. Wife’s burger was good, but not her favorite. Servers were excellent on a very hectic and crowded evening. I think ours was Lauri…she was superb. Curiously, they seem to close at 8, but maybe those hours are extended as we get into the summer.

We have been there many times and tonight was awful. First our waitress forgot to put pur orders in and it wasnt that busy….then when we finally got our food…one of us had to wait longer…others had finished eating by the time hers got there..worse service i have ever had!!!! My bill was over a 100 and i probably wont come back!

Pretty much great all around. Waitress was very pleasant. Food was a bit pricey, but very good. Very clean, with a chill country cafe vibe. Would definitely return, and highly recommended if your in the area.

We just had lunch at “The County Seat” in Powhatan, VA. Ms Tracy, the owner came over to greet us. We were with our Service Animal (in training) Damien. Our server & her cousin could not resist a photo op. County Seat has the most Amazing Fried Chicken, the best home-cooking & the friendliest people. Truly remarkable that they have been in a multigenerational business for over 30 years. A mandatory stop every time we are up here

What a gem! Worth the drive from Chesterfield! Fantastic food like your grandma used to make! Every dish was fresh and flavorful. Staff was very attentive and friendly as well. Very reasonably priced so for all these reasons we will be back, and often!
