We came here after a hike and loved the beautiful location. We had our dig with us and so sat on the patio. The views are amazing and the food was great. The baby back ribs were amazing . Had a great time and will come back again!

I just wanted to say County Line on the Lake holds a special place in my heart. Before moving to Austin, this location made me fall in love with the city’s beautiful, laidback scenery. I felt at home immediately. When we moved here, we had our celebratory dinner at County Line. And now whenever we have family or friends visit us, this restaurant is our favorite place to take everyone.

The atmosphere is great both inside and outside on the patio. My kids love seeing the turtles & swans on the water. The servers have always been on top of it and provide great service every time. And the food is always consistent and comes out quickly.

I’ve tried the lean brisket, ribs and turkey which have all been fantastic. Don’t miss out on the loaded baked potato as your side! I also try to save room for the cobbler pie with ice cream if I can! We have never left hungry and leave with plenty of leftovers.

We’ve been driving by for a long time and finally decided to stop for dinner. We were seated quickly but in a very back corner of the restaurant. We didn’t get seen by a server for 10 minutes when I had to go get one. The server for our section was clearly swamped and had a hard time managing the number of tables. We got served and place our order. The beer on draft was flat. The brisket was dry. It was pretty disappointing, as the best thing we had was the sausage, the queso, and the bread. We weren’t impressed, and we likely won’t be back.

If you want great BBQ, a welcoming environment, and friendly staff this is the place! I can’t say enough good things. My husband chooses this place for his birthday dinner every year. He gets the Big Daddy Beef Ribs. These things are HUGE! Their sides are so good. I like how it gives you a glimpse into the past with vintage signs and movie posters. Overall a great place.

A really fun place to visit with the family. We enjoyed the food and feeding the turtles. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. It looks like a fantastic place to have an event. Happy hour from 4-7 including drinks and appetizers. All around The County Line in the Lake was a very fun visit for all of our group from 1.5 to 72 years old.

Had the all you can stand option. That was really good. Brisket and ribs were great. The ladle butter and turtles are a whole other story. I hope to go there again next time I’m in Austin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The County Line on the Lake never disappoints. This is classic Texas BBQ done right, with a view that makes it even better.

The ribs were perfectly cooked — tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, with just the right amount of char and sauce. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, pure comfort food, and the coleslaw was fresh and balanced, cutting through the richness perfectly. Every part of the plate hit.

Add in the relaxed lakeside atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently solid food, and it’s easy to see why this place is an Austin staple. Whether you’re bringing out-of-town guests or just craving real BBQ, this spot always delivers.

Absolutely amazing bbq and great service! I got the two meat combo with the chicken and the 2nd cut brisket and both were delicious. The tortilla chips and queso was great as well; the queso had excellent flavor. Will be returning!

We were visiting from out of town and chose this restaurant based on its positive reviews, expecting a great experience. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing.

We were told the wait for outdoor seating would be about 30 to 40 minutes, which we agreed to. After waiting well over an hour, we checked multiple times and were repeatedly told we would be seated soon. Despite there being open tables outside, we were never seated.

The restaurant was not busy, and during this time we noticed servers inside socializing rather than assisting waiting guests. No one took our order, and there was no sense of urgency or customer care.

After more than an hour of waiting with no progress, we had no choice but to leave, hungry and frustrated, feeling that our time had been completely wasted.

Good reviews may bring customers in, but service is what keeps them coming back. Sadly, this visit showed a lack of organization, communication, and respect for customers’ time. We truly expected better

This is the place where you take family and visitors for the Texas BBQ experience. I love the Mexican deviled eggs and the smoked chicken platter. Their Big Daddy beef ribs are the best you’ll find. Don’t forget to order a loaf of bread the feed the crusts to the turtles out back
