Country’s Barbecue in Columbus, Georgia (North location) opened in 1975 and today boasts two other locations in the city (Mercury Dr. and Broadway) offering the same Southern-style wood-smoked barbecue. From the moment you pull into the spacious, free parking lot off Veterans Parkway you’ll appreciate how easy it is to access the building—no hassle, plenty of spots, and a straightforward entrance. Inside the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with the aroma of oak and hickory-smoked pork filling the air. The food options are generous: everything from brisket and ribs to smoked chicken and pulled pork, accompanied by classic sides like mac-and-cheese, collard greens, and hushpuppies. The service felt genuine and friendly, and the meal was satisfying in a way that only good Southern BBQ can deliver. After finishing my plate I found myself thinking that I would gladly visit again and confidently recommend this place to anyone craving authentic barbecue done right. The combination of easy access, solid parking, multiple menu choices, and a comfortable atmosphere makes Country’s Barbecue a standout.

We were sat promptly. Food came fast. Good customer service. My family thought the food was great, it was okay to me. This place felt like a very healthy breakfast spot. Grits were very watery and nasty to everyone

I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to put the veggie soup side in the same container as the rest of the meal. The container that only snaps shut on 4 corners and has good size vents on the lid over every section- To add insult to injury, the dumplings came in a soup container so obviously they had soup containers. The place is great. It is nicely decorated inside. My friend and I stopped on our way to Atlanta and I took brisket and baked sweet potato and black eye beans. It was delicious. I love sweet potatoes and meat and the brisket was tender and juicy. Plus the place is not pricy at all. I want to stop their again to try their ribs too.

They try but it’s a miss. The bbq flavor was there but the overall food quality was poor. Ordered the 3 meat plate – turkey, served cold and was very dry. Brisket (requested lean) was cold, but not terrible. Ribs (requested center) a you guessed it, cold! Super dry. Not good at all. Sides – ordered “fresh cut” fries, they were soggy and limp, certainly not fresh. Ordered baked beans – tasted like Busch’s can beans with some peppers added to the mix and were also again, cold!!! If you’re looking for bbq, would look to visit another place.

We were passing through columbus(used to live here) and missed countrys. Food was okay, not like it used to be. Portions are much much smaller, all meat was luke warm, like its been sitting for a while. Still good place to eat, its unique and good, just not what it used to be.

I love Country’s. In the past I would eat in, but recently have just placed take out orders and my food is always hot and delicious. The Shoup sauce is my favorite. I usually get chopped beef, but their pork and chicken is also delicious. But, I have to admit, my favorite side item are the fries! They are delicious! I usually get a double order of them when I order. I’ve been going to Country’s for years and plan to keep going for years more, God willing.

I am appalled with countrys now. I have grown up with them. Years ago, I discovered their fried pickles and fell in love. The perfectly fried plank pickles with the mustard ranch was such a perfect pairing. I ordered them EVERY time I got country’s, but now. . .I will NEVER ORDER THEM AGAIN!!! They are disgusting and overly salty pickle chips! I am horrified and disappointed! I used to recommend the pickles to everyone possible! Now. . . I’ll tell them to never partake in them. They’re not the same. They’re not good. Waste of money and a container of disappointment. All for what? Meet some quota? Good job downgrading!

Bathroom had a soap dispenser laying on the counter, soap on wall and trash running out the can! Felt unclean!! Food was dry and fries were soggy in oil and cold. The temperature outside was 50 maybe and inside was 64 and freezing! Just every time we come it’s a disappointment! Service was awful and didn’t offer dessert! Never checked on us… it was a bad experience as it always is when I come to this location!!

Hello,
Honestly I’ve never been more disappointed, the food was good, but the waitress apparently tried to rip us off, without bringing us the check she charged us 120$ for a party of four. Then we asked for it, and she charged us more than 110% worth of tips,
67$ tips for a 54$ meal. Then we asked for an explanation and she said that’s our fault cause we typed it.
She hearded us speaking French and might have thought we’re easy to steal from, I don’t know.
NEVER AGAIN, sorry to the owner of that great restaurant but that’s innaceptable.
