If you adore small town mom & pop cafes as much as I do, you will love this wonderful little gem. Service is fast, friendly and personal. The food is good home cooking. The atmosphere celebrates the local farming history. Slow down, take a breath and enjoy this quaint little cafe.

This is a great place with delicious food and wonderful staff!! I’ve been here many times and it’s a great experience each time. Stop in for a meal, a baked good or some local wares! Country Red Hen is a great place for a solo meal, a take out order, or there are a good number of tables that seat 4, and a space that could seat a larger group. You can make this a quick bite or take your time and enjoy the atmosphere and company. There’s no feeling of being rushed out the door. There are a lot of comfort foods on the menu. Daily specials for breakfast and lunch, and usually 2-3 daily soups (including chili). Very yummy baked goods and homemade bread, freeze dried candy made in-house adds fun options for a to-go treat! They also have a few shelves that hold locally made non-food items that make great gifts!! Things like jewelry, key chains, wall decor, kitchen textiles, etc. I never know what fun new stuff there might be to look at, but there’s always something. A very friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome.

This was our first time here it has a cozy down home atmosphere. The breakfast we had was great and having their homemade raisin bread brought back memories. Our waitress was laid back and attentive and made us feel at home and welcomed.we definitely will be back!

First time visiting. Out of towners looking for a place to eat. Came across this lovely restaurant.
We were greeted warmly. Coffee came quickly looked at the menu and then looked over at the counter to the donuts!! We got the turtle cinnamon roll as our breakfast appetizer. Yum!!! Our breakfast was warm and the cheddar jalapeno toast was amazing.
I wish we lived closer because it would be our go to.

This is such a wonderful family owned restaurant. The owners are wonderful and take great care of their customers. The food is home cooked. Nothing fancy, just old-fashioned, simple good cooking. The place is decorated in a very cute country scheme (its really relaxing and special). This place is worth a sit down simply because if the wait staff. They are great. Don’t expect fancy, but you will be full and leave happy.
