The Middlebury Country Lane Bakery is outstanding. The people here are some of the most honest, hardworking folks you’ll meet, and it shows in everything they make. The food is fresh, homemade, and consistently excellent — you can taste the quality and care in every bite.

Their service is just as impressive. Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re in Middlebury and want great food from people you can trust, this is the place to go. I highly recommend Country Lane Bakery.

Love this place! Personally I think the monster cookies are the absolute best but honestly everything I’ve tried so far from this bakery has been amazing! I also enjoy the chocolate or pumpkin whoopie pies, pumpkin bread, zucchini bread, cinnamon rolls, fresh baked bread, dinner rolls, and fresh pies. You can’t miss with this place! They also have a location in downtown shipshewana, Country Lane Bakery 2.0, where they serve their usual baked goods but also have cafe drinks and some food options along with plenty of seating to sit and enjoy your treats. The owners are also usually there and everyone is really friendly. If you’re in the middlebury/shipshewana area you should definitely check them out!

Oh my gosh, because I don’t wanna use the Lord name in vain… I was at GH today, Friday, and as I walked in the tables were lined with goodies, all the cakes, and pies, and whoopie pies, and cinnamon rolls, and cookies… oh my gosh!! I was in sweet tooth heaven! I brought several items, I don’t have pictures for many, I went crazy, what I want I gets!! My adult children, all boys… who I still spoil don’t care much for sweets because some treats are just too sweet for them, but when I brought my purple bag home they were all in it, they thought it was R&R… I said No it’s a different Amish bakery, and they said they’re BETTER, we went in, sharing a little bit of this and that, and we fell in love! My boys said “yeeees ma’am, we in there!” We’re now addicted and I love that I can get bread with ingredients that I can pronounce. I showed my boys the bread we had in the kitchen on the counter, and this loaf of Jalapeño bread, and we compare ingredients alone on just pronouncing ingredients, I instantly trashed my $3 loaf of bread. I’ll be taking weekly trips to this bakery, they’re the best!! Just look at the love put into making the bread, oh my gosh, no shortcut on ingredients

Small family owned bakery off the beaten path, right on the farm. Small counter window to order, but a pretty large variety of baked goods. Pies, donuts, breads, cinnamon rolls, cookies. All ready to go. The day we stopped in was an open house day, so they were very busy. No parking, except on the road and they were giving out free food. Turkey sandwiches, donuts, cookies and a drink. Very good food.

Country Lane Bakery is a hidden gem here in Shipshewana, Indiana! Amish owned and operated, this bakery delivers the kind of fresh, homemade quality you just can’t find in big stores. Everything is baked from scratch, and you can truly taste the care that goes into each loaf of bread, pie, or cookie.

They’ve been a favorite in Middlebury for years, and now with their Shipshewana Indiana location . The staff is friendly, the bakery is always clean and welcoming, and the selection is amazing—whether you’re picking up bread for the week, a pie for a family gathering, or just a treat for yourself.

Easy to find, plenty of free parking, such friendly service. Everyone had smiles and there were so many wonderful choices it was hard to choose. Purchased Cinnamon Cream Sticks (among other things) and hubby loves them! Highly recommend!
