We had a nice brunch at Country Gourmet. We’ve been here many times and it’s always good. I had a turkey sandwich special which had roast turkey, apple chutney and brie. I really liked it. The chutney was a nice compliment to the turkey. My husband had the San Jose omelet. He liked it but said it was a little too salty. He wasn’t sure if it was from the bacon or added salt. My dad had Eggs Benedict, which is his go to breakfast dish here. My daughter had granola and a piece of coffee cake. Both were large portions. The granola had great cinnamon flavor. The coffee cake reminds me of the coffee cake that Hobee’s used to serve.

I ordered the regular combo breakfast. Eggs were fine, link sausage was good, better than the average you can get in other places. The potatoes had too much black pepper (why is this obsession about adding a bunch of black peppers to the country side potatoes??), it’s a shame because they were too greasy. I might come back but it didn’t blew my mind.
I like the atmosphere, there is a lot of space, very family oriented. Service was good.
If you are looking into breakfast places to try this could be an option but try to go with no expectations and it might be a good fit to you. 4 stars but I would put a 3 if it was only about the food.
Caveat: I like food that is more on the balanced side, I understand a lot of people putting a bunch of dressing but I do believe they are missing out. There is so much to enjoy about having the right meal with the perfect seasoning

Good neighborhood spot. The type of place where you order first, find your own table and they bring the food to you. There is a decent amount of seating inside and out but could be difficult for large parties.
We ordered the breakfast burrito, the turkey pesto, coffee cake and rueben special.
The service was good and the food decent. Nothing outstanding. You can see they are popular for some with many regular customers.

Very good to excellent place for breakfast and lunch. Many healthy choices on their menu as well as some standard American fare. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. You also get your own water. Very popular with locals. Sometimes crowded, sometimes not. Many specials every day. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. We’ve been coming here for 20+ years now and have sampled just about everything on their menu.

The menu features classic American dishes such as burgers, steaks, and salads. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and efficient, making diners feel welcome and well taken care of.

Went for lunch and made a mistake going at noon as it was packed and noisy, but we did get a table. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Sat inside today as it was raining. You order at the counter, and then your order will be delivered to your table. Service was good, we’ve always liked the food and you get a lot. Today, we had an omelet and almond chicken salad.

Great family-owned restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The veggie scramble and buttermilk biscuit were tasty as well as the buttermilk pancakes. Denver omelette seemed to be lacking in freshness. Our son had the blueberry smoothie which quickly disappeared. We really like their turkey pesto sandwich at lunchtime.

Kind of an average place. Looks like a place with lots of regulars.

Had a Denver Omelet, was good, but again, nothing special.

Not a bad place, would come back, but would not make a special effort.

I was in the area on a Saturday morning and tried it for breakfast. It’s at the corner with Fremont in a shopping plaza so lot’s of parking. I ordered the Mongolian Beef & Eggs off the chalk board at the order counter and given a number stand to take to my table. The interior is a clean tile topped table and chair arrangement with a divider to separate dining areas.

My dish and table setup were brought to me shortly. The order consisted of cubes of beef, asparagus slices and scrambled eggs piped with Sriracha sauce over long grain rice. The beef was a little chewy, some of the asparagus was fibrous and chewy and the rice was a little hard. The gravy was a light coating and not very sweet, good. I would request more Sriracha the next time. Service was good with check -ins and other tables got their coffee refilled.

The breakfast menu was limited, you won’t find a Chorizo Scramble, Corned Beef Hash or Chicken Fried Steak here. Prices are reasonable. I would repeat for the Mongolian Beef, if they have it, not many places serve rice with breakfast in the area.

We are a family of six that has had breakfast here over fifty times. We recommend it and consider it one of the best “wholesome, hearty country-style” themed breakfast/lunch restaurants in South Bay. It is best to think of this place firstly as a fantastic country bakery that happens to also be a pretty good breakfast/lunch restaurant. When you dine here, you must try their: blueberry coffeecake, corn bread, buttermilk biscuits, carrot cake, etc. Of those, the coffeecake is particularly legendary and vastly superior to Hobee’s overrated version. My opinions of their breakfast offerings:
Egg / Spinach Benedict: very good as a hearty, country version (not European-inspired). Tip to chef: your hollandaise sauce needs much less butter content, more egg yolk, and a bit more tanginess (a bit more lemon and vinegar)
Spinach Quiche: pretty good, but as expected it is in no way a traditional French-style quiche. We miss their seafood quiche (was once on their menu).
Side of Skillet Potatoes: very good
Mixed fruit bowls: great !
Expresso / Lattes: great !
Smoothies: disgusting, obviously made from concentrate.
Roadhouse Burrito: meh, quite inferior to the breakfast burrito at Taqueria La Espuela
Veggie or Spinach Omelet: quite good !
Pancakes or waffles or French toast: recommended
Choco chip cookies: too sweet ! (cut the sugar in half please)
Peanut Buter Cookies: pretty good but also very sweet
We imagine their lunch offerings are quite good, we just never make it there for lunch due to our family schedule.
One complaint – their menu has such limited selection, so locals often like us get bored with the menu after only a half-dozen visits. They should expand their breakfast menu w/items like great crepes, a nice $30 seafood omelet, German Pancake (Dutch Baby), a great caramel roll, a great banana-nut whole wheat pancake, a great burrito. Also we do not like the type of cheap tasting “breakfast sausage” they serve. Also note to owners: we do NOT like you removed the self-serve coffee dispensers because your servers are a bit slow in refilling coffee that we previously refilled ourselves very conveniently
