Overall cute little place, friendly laid back staff and environment, food was decent. My only real issue was the cleanliness, under the tables was pretty gross, not just same day dirt and debris, but appeared it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly in a while, the walls didn’t help the dirty look as it needs another coat of paint, seeing through to the wood behind the white paint adds to the dirty look.

The Countey Chef is a little hole in the wall type of place you wouldn’t know is there unless a local pointed it out to you. The burgers there are delicious! The buns are home made with a generous size burger patty. The menu contains a ridiculous selection of burger options, from the classic Olive Burger to the Fajita Burger to the Wild Wild West, topped with BBQ pork. The waffle fries are a must have!
The menu has a wide variety to choose from, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have always had friendly, helpful service from the staff waiting on us. It’s nice that they always have the local papers available to read as you wait for your good or sip your coffee.

My wife and I love this place! Great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner! Her favorite is the Country Chef Breakfast, mine is the Moose Breath Burger! Carol and her staff do an awesome job of rockin out some great food!

Had lunch there on 7/2/2015, not a good experience. I have dined here on other occasions but something has changed. We ordered Southwestern Burger, they brought out the bacon when our burger were half eaten. We could not find the Guacomole on the burgers. Our group arrived at 12:20 p.m. They were out of barbecued pork. The pies were all gone. There were plenty of apologies but sometimes that doesn’t feed the bulldog. I will try them once more and it may be the blacklist for the restaurant. Some folks drove two hours to eat there, after two hours, apologies don’t do much. Just my $.02

They’re very nice and you can buy things in there like pot holders baby bibs baby blankets Dish clothes and they’re all hand made and they are adorable.I love the Country chef Cafe so if you come to Ithaca Michigan that is a spot for a good Burger.

We arrived at the Country Chef Cafe feeling dog hungry, we were served with a smile and our food arrived quickly, we had a great breakfast, burgers and fries. Burger was perfectly cooked to order.

Had the classic burger. It was huge and delicious. The hand dipped onion rings were awesome. The waitress was a very nice and friendly young lady.

Had a blu cheese burger, girl friend had the bacon cheese extreme, both had cole slaw! We split a combination mushroom cheese stick and onion rings platter. It’s the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Onion rings, mushrooms and cheese sticks tasted like fish! Mushrooms were not done! The blu cheese dressing tasted almost sour! By the time I drove home to Lansing I had a upset stomach and ended up throwing up. Nasty the second time around. I should of said something but thought it was just me! Girl friend ended up sick also. I won’t recommend this place or will I be back.
