Getting pierced by the huge overgrown cactus should have been enough to steer me away. My family and i had been staying 39 minutes down the hill where there was nothing to eat, so we were super hungry, had 3 kids with us. We went in at 655 and i didnt realize that it would be closing in 5 minutes. I asked the hostess if we could get a table and she told me they were closing at 7. I just thought it was terribly rude not to offer a table to us! They lost out on about 80 bucks and the awesome bar across the street made us a table in the back so the kids could come in and eat.

The food itself was good, but if you are picky about wanting your food to be made a certain way, then you might not want to eat here. I had scrambled eggs in my order, and they came in the form of a patty, I’m not really very picky about my food, but when I order something, (as I expect most people would), I normally like to get exactly what I ordered and how I ordered it, and how I expected it. Don’t expect to be waited on very fast either, it was more important for the staff to talk with other people, before being finished with waiting on our table, and for being a small little cafe, the atmosphere was not bad, probably what you would expect and want in a small town cafe place like that.

We eat there every time we go through town. Everything is good! However, it is closed now! A sign says will open soon with a new menu. I sure hope it hasn’t sold and if it has, they keep the “old” menu. Dave and Rose have been great hosts for many years!! It is just right for this community!
The worst has happened. My favorite restaurant has changed hands and menu. We gave it a chance! All of the things I usually order have been scratched. No more biscuit and gravy lunch, mushroom Swiss burger, French dip, clam chowder, or patty melt.
We tried a burger. It was huge, but nowhere near the quality of Dave’s patties which were cooked hot and crispy. I’ll go for a reasonable sized quality burger over a not-so-good too much to possibly eat burger any day. New hours are only Thursday to Sunday, so that cuts out 2/3 of my visits anyway.
So sad to watch this place die after years of great food and service from Dave and Rose. We will miss you.

This is a great little cafe. I’ve only been here for breakfast so I can’t comment on the lunch, but my son says the burgers are great. Each time I’ve been in, the service is always friendly and prompt, the coffee is always hot and the food is always great. Sunday mornings they serve prime rib and eggs which is really tasty.

Good little place to have breakfast. Good service.. And great coffee. Just wish they where a little more lax on their menu as when it comes to being able to order lunch vs. Breakfast. There are some people that don’t eat breakfast foods. As they are allergic to certain things. So they don’t do breakfast. Anyway a great little place to stop and end and enjoy good atmosphere..

Just a great little, old school cafe. Very good sized portions of food. Nice big pancakes, fluffy and delicious. Biscuits and gravy were very good as well.
