A cozy café nestled between Hwy 14 and the river at Niobrara. Tables and chairs are all actual dining sets of all kinds. Decorated with old wood and tin on the walls. Very cool! Great café food and Very good service. Coffee was fantastic! Be sure to check out the picture book of the ice jam flood and the gigantic chunks of ice that crushed the building!!

Cute little place. My wife said it looks like a Hallmark movie set. As someone else mentioned, they don’t do omelets here. And the prices in the whole area are a little higher than in bigger towns. I can’t fault them on that. I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star restaurant, but it is just the sort of place you’d expect out in the country, friendly faces, hot coffee and tasty food without frills.

Cosey little farm-style café just on the outter end of the town, generous with their portions and a great variety. They also sell farm-fresh eggs for a decent price.

Cash only and one bathroom. Not worth a stop or detour unless you are specifically in the area. Single bathroom and cash only. Am sure it’s great for the area but not worth a trip unless your specifically there.
No “midway” breakfast options. It’s 1000 calorie or bust here.

Come to the Country Cafe for more than the food . The cuisine is home style cooking in a relaxed atmosphere.
For supper I had a cheeseburger and side salad that was ample in size and great on taste. I arrived at 6:15, 45 minutes before closing and was greeted with a warm smile and menu from the server. The next morning I arrived for breakfast at 6:30, 30 minutes after opening and recieved the same warm greeting from a different server, so the friendlyness you recieve is a culture and not an act. Breakfast was hearty bacon, eggs ,hashbrowns, with toast and coffee for $12.90. While waiting I enjoyed listening to banter between some local regular customers about who was a better cowboy star, John Wayne, or Jimmy Stewart, or Robert Mitchum and so on. In the end “The Duke” came out on top but not by much.
The decor is tastefully eclectic with a different kitchen table and chair set for each customer, no two are alike. I like that you can try a different setting each time you visit. The restaurant and bathroom are clean and with seating for 40 or more people there is always an open place to sit. Bring cash or a check because credit cards are not accepted.
All in all it was a delightfull experience and I recommend you visit it when in Niobrara.

Hands down one of the best places to eat around Niobrara. We made it a point to go to Country Cafe for a trip after we had it the first time. It is so good. Homemade-style food and always perfect. If you are ever within 50 miles of this place, go. You will not regret it.

I came here as part of a large dual-sport Motorcycle club meeting spot for lunch. The staff was friendly. If you ordered the special, it was prepared quickly and served fast. It was tasty and it was a fair price. They even included dessert! And the bathroom was nice and clean.

The Country Cafe has amazing food, especially the carmel rolls and peach French toast. Laura, the owner, is so friendly and always goes out of her way to make you feel like you are dining in her home. We go to Niobrara mostly so we can eat at the Country Cafe.
