Visiting Berwick-upon-Tweed with the mother at the beginning of October and we decided that for our first evening meal we fancied fish and chips.
Not knowing how busy it would be I rang and booked a table. Located on the way out of town just beyond the town walls. It was a good walk from the hotel for the mother not being as agile in her later years, so we took our time. On the way back to the hotel we opted for a walk alongside the River Tweed by taking the first left once through the town wall.
Upon arrival we had the window seat. I noted that the traditional Fish and Chip shop was located next-door.
The staff were fabulous, the decor was wonderful (especially that fish wallpaper), it was clean with very good facilities. During warmer times there’s an outdoor eating area to choose from, too.
The menu had a super choice we opted for the scampi & chips and a fish sandwich & chips. We’ll it was really hard to know where to start with the sandwich. That’s the best piece of fish I’ve had in a long time. There was absolutely no room for desserts!!!

A fine fish and chips.
Im a fan of Dripping chips, these are not.
So if you want premium fish and chips but dont like dripping fried. This place is the place for you.
Crispy batter, clean chips. No soggy grease at all.
Oh and a very fine mayonnaise.

This is a fantastic fish restaurant in Berwick-upon-Tweed which we had spotted earlier in the day and where we chose to have our evening meal.
The menu is extensive with something to suit all ages and appetites.
We had a pie and chips and a pensioner’s fish and chips with mushy peas, bread and butter and pot of tea.
I was expecting a smaller portion but the fish was huge and hanging off each end of the plate; thank goodness I didn’t choose the regular size! The food was absolutely delicious-generous portions, beautifully cooked and so tasty!
It’s obviously a very popular and successful restaurant judging by how busy they were.

Stopped in for dinner whilst passing through. Was particularly hungry after waking all day so ordered the jumbo for fish and chips and it was indeed jumbo. The food appeared very quickly after ordering and was absolutely delicious. Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Lovely shift crispy batter and fish was tasty. My daughter got the steak pie which came with a gravy dip which was so good we ordered another for the rest of us to dip our chips. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

When visiting our family caravan in Berwick this is out go to place for dinner in town. The restaurant is a grey building situated afew doors up from the stone archway and features a takeaway section aswell as the sit in restaurant.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming in a very happy and relaxing atmosphere.
The food is just great. Don’t know what else to say. Some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The portions are huge. So go prepared with an empty stomach! I went for the regular fish and chips which defeated me. There is also an option for the ‘extra hungry’ for a jumbo fish and chips. Can’t imagine the size of that

Fantastic fish and chips. The salad and coleslaw really complement it too. The portions were quite generous; I could not even finish everything. Service was swift and friendly.

Amazing Fish n Chips. One of the very best I’ve ever had. Everything absolutely spot on. I opted for the battered cod and my wife went for the fish in a roll. Huge portions and certainly worth the money you pay. Excellent and quick service also. Look forward to going back one day.

Its one of a place where you can close your eye and go there because there wasn’t any fault i can point out during my visit. They’re busy so don’t forget to book a table.
Just exceptional fish and chips. We all friends ordered different things from Cod, haddock, sausage and chips and all were just yummy. The portions were so generous even hardly i finished my one.
Though very nice and cosy atmosphere inside. Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of seatings but most of time they are full as i heard from my friends. Prices were not bad for that big portions. The toilets were really clean. Surely recommend and i must come back again when around.
