Food was absolutely delicious! Took a detour driving to TX from the French Quarter and we’re so glad we did. I had the loaded baked potato with smoked chicken and it honestly could’ve fed a family. It was an 8×4 inch behemoth topped to the brim with all the fixins. Butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, onion, real bacon bits, jalapeño slices, meat, and bbq sauce. My daughter ordered the loaded baked potato with shrimp and although it wasn’t AS big, it was PACKED. Couldn’t even finish it. But let me just say, I took a bite of the shrimp and OH MY GOD. Highlight of all the meals. I’d order a large basket next time. Tender, coated in a perfectly seasoned batter. High. Light. My son had a small pulled pork sandwich and it was more than enough for his little foodie heart. He also raved about the mac and cheese. Lastly, my husband had a sausage sandwich with coleslaw on the side. His only picky point was that the casing could’ve been snappier. And that’s really him just being picky because he said the flavor was heaven. Juicy and delicious. Definitely give this place a go if you’re driving back from New Orleans. It’s worth the detour!

When driving to find this establishment, you may dismiss it as a non-descriptive building. That’s where Google reviews come in, and the reviews speak for itself. You are greeted right away by a greeter, place the order and one of the kitchen staff brings the food to you, Simple. Inside this restaurant brings a nostalgic feel that is personal of being in your own neighborhood BBQ joint. The staff love what they do and you can hear it with laughter and talking. All kinds of customers come here and for one thing- good food.

We were skeptical when we saw this establishment, but the reviews don’t lie. This surely seems to be the restaurant of choice for locals and I understand why. The food was great and the people are very welcoming. My wife and I usually like trying different restaurants when traveling, but we ate there every night while visiting Baton Rouge and Port Allen. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The loaded potato is almost indescribable, but it is as big and delicious as people say. The fried green beans were my favorite.

Holy moly. Don’t let the guy behind the counter order for you! =) you’ll try it all! The star- without question- was the warm potato salad served with the meat dish. The ribs were top notch and I couldn’t have asked for better moist. The sausage tasted home made- I surely haven’t tasted that from the store. I’m not a huge fan of raw onions- but some chop would probably do the potato a lot of Justice. The fish is still too hot to eat. remoulade is solid. Could have eaten the warm mash a couple times.

I’m so glad this place is far from where I live! I would gain 100 pounds eating one of those potatoes every week, LOL. The baked potato with the fried shrimp on top is out of this world! The cashier told me to put the sweet BBQ sauce on top, which I thought sounded weird, but she was absolutely correct! It’s just awesome! I ate off that potato for 2 days, LOL. The ribs were tender but a tad salty for me. Once I put the sweet sauce on them that cut the saltiness.

Food was ok, seasoned well but the fish was kinda rubbery and overcooked. The workers were VERY nice. The stuffed potato looked just like it did on the menu. All in all I give it 4 stars!
