We have always enjoyed Cotijas, however, just recently I ordered a bean burrito to share with my toddler and I bit down on something hard. After rinsing it off I discovered a rock in my burrito. I’m not sure if they aren’t sorting and rinsing their beans properly, but I definitely won’t be ordering our favorite burritos from there again. I need to be able to trust what I’m feeding my baby is safe!

Cotijas Taco Shop is one of my go-to spots for authentic Mexican food.
The place is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the vibe is great.
Their salsa bar is awesome — they have habanero, red and green salsas, pickled onions, limes, jalapeños, and more. All fresh and well stocked.
The tacos and burritos are always hot, tasty, and filling. Definitely worth coming back!

First time here, I have standards on latin cuisine. Being half Hispanic and growing up on my Abuelas cooking. This place was delicious, good food and vibes. Food dishes are big so come hungry, my eyes were bigger than my stomach but the surf and turf burrito is like 13 inches, by 4 inches wide, so your getting you moneys worth, I couldn’t finish it but great flavor and balance of everything. I’ll be back

Starting with the customer service. Was not even greeted and the cashier has an attitude. I ordered the chile relleno special with rice and beans. When I opened it I was not sure what it was because it didn’t even look like one. It was dry, no sauce andrewlly brown. It was hard to even cut because it was so chewy. It’s the worse child relleno I have never had. Not to mention you could taste the oil. The rice and beans were not great either. I ended up getting sick after trying to eat this gross food

Who says you have to eat tacos or burritos only at a Mexican Food joint. The ceviche here is Delicious! The staff very friendly and service is always amazing! Definitely recommend.

I purchased 3 breakfast burritos, and they were really good. I had a friend who is gluten intolerant, they gave me 2 burritos that were not in a tortilla and a side of corn tortillas. So she could enjoy them, too. Barry accommodating.

Whatever you do, come ready to share a meal. We ordered the Surf & Turf burrito, and while I pride myself on being a big eater, I could not finish this thing if my life depended on it. Also, the food is incredible. The best Mexican food in Tierrasanta.

It was…satisfactory. Had some fish tacos. They were ok; not the best, but not awful. The corn tortillas were soft and old and weren’t grill like they are at other places. I say old cuz they just crumbled when I picked up the taco. Price was ok I guess, but seemed like a few bucks too much. If the option was available to give half stars, I would give this place 2 1/2 stars, a rating right down the middle. But since I can’t, I rated/rounded down because there are so many other good places for Mexican food.

I should have looked closer at their menu but I assumed it would be like any other taco shop. I went it and ordered an asada burrito. What I got was a burrito of just asada and a dollop of avocado! I guess beans and rice are extra which explains why my burrito was nearly $12
