The food is delicious but the smallest burritos I’ve ever had.

They have the smallest carne asada burrito I’ve ever had! I also had their carne asada Chips which also felt like a ripoff. The flavor was not bad, but mid.

What happened to this place? It used to be so good. Last few times I’ve gone it’s been awful and I just gave it one last shot today but no more. The carne asada tasted the way dog food smells.

I’ve been going to Cotijas for years and always loved their LARGE carne asada fries. They used to be so loaded you could barely close the lid! But now, they’ve become total cheapskates with their portions. It’s just not the same anymore and they should just name them SMALL carne asada fries instead that way you are not surprised. Honestly, save your money and go to Sayulitas instead. You’ll get way better value for what you’re paying.

Completely unmelted cheese enchilada. Like all the ingredients are there but I don’t think they were ever any warmer than the freezing condition I received them in. Also I didn’t get my soda but that’s on doordash not the restaurant. Other entree in order was fine but like….not even kinda melted. At all.

Went and ordered Carne Asada Nachos. Payed almost $13 for them, when I opened it up, there was hardly ANY CARNE ASADA in there, they smothered it with sour cream a lil bit of guacamole and cheese. Very disappointed! I Will NOT BE Coming back to this location Ever! Very inconsistent. Over Priced and just cuz it says beef shortage don’t mean you can be cheap on the beef when your prices are raised and we’re paying for it. So Frustated. Never Again. One star is not Low enough. In the photo, ate a lil, but there but trust me, there was not much meat.

I have been going to this place for years and recently started using Uber-Eats for delivery. Never had an issue until tonight. I ordered Cheese Enchiladas, Shrimp Enchiladas, and a Potato Taco. Uber driver Marco delivered on time. When I opened the bag I had 1 container with 1 cheese enchilada & 1 shrimp enchilada and the taco. I called Cotija’s to tell them they forgot food in my order. The person in the background said he knew which order it was and I could come down and get the food or Uber could delivery. I asked if they were paying for Uber and they said “No”. I told them since it was there mistake they should. I was then told to call tomorrow and speak to the manager.
Needless to say I a bit irritated.

Used to live close and this became my husband’s and I favorite taco shop. We now live in San Ysidro and we continue to drive here when we want a GREAT taco shop. The food has never disappointed me, they have lots to choose from, the prices are affordable, the staff is always smiling and friendly, and it’s always clean when we go in. They’re normally always busy because it’s so close to so many homes and shops. Expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes. Trust me when I say every bite is worth the wait. When they aren’t busy, it’s pretty fast. No drive thru through.
