We recently enjoyed breakfast at Côte in Shrewsbury town centre, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated straight away, which set a great tone for the visit.
The weather was perfect that morning, allowing us to sit outside and really enjoy our breakfast in the sunshine. We ordered a selection of breakfast dishes, and the portions were very generous — the French toast in particular was extremely filling and topped with delicious fresh fruit. The coffee was strong and full of flavour, and we enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist ordering a second round.
The breakfast menu had plenty of great choices. The vegetarian breakfast really stood out, with generous portions and tasty veggie sausages that were packed with flavour.
The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and fresh, including the bathrooms, which were easily accessible and well maintained.
The service was truly first class. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always smiling, regularly checking in to make sure everything was okay and that we didn’t need anything else.
We had a wonderful breakfast and are already looking forward to our next visit to Côte Shrewsbury.

The lady served us was amazing, chatty and nice. But the lady show us to our table qnd handed us the bill wasn’t very welcoming and ignored us 2 times when we tried to ask for the bill. She might be having a rough day in this time of the year. But anyway it was nice restaurant and food was amazing.

Went for lunch & really enjoyed a delicious Niçoise salad with fresh seared tuna & soft boiled egg, complimented with a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
However, what really stood out for me was the kindly manner the staff showed towards an elderly gentleman who sat alone nearby. They clearly knew him and suggested what he may like to eat, without being rushed or patronising. All the staff were lovely & stopped to chat with the gentleman & the Manageress in particular was incredibly empathetic. That’s what makes a restaurant stand out (apart from the good food). I was very impressed.

Started off fine, got drinks & starters (which were excellent) but things went downhill drastically from there.
The main courses arrived & found the vegan burger to be burned & broccoli cold.
Half way through the mains, we required more drinks, more fries (which were ‘all you can eat’) and more gravy for my chicken & fries (which initially arrived in a tiny pot)…….. But no servers arrived.
We waited for 20 minutes but no service was to be found, the rest of the food went cold so we stood up & waited by the front door to pay.
What we expected to be a nice experience turned out to be the worst restaurant in Shrewsbury (mainly due to lack of service & bad management)
We won’t be back.

Maitre D was professional but rest of staff need training in customer service.
The appetisers were of a good portion and lovely.
I had belly pork which really needed green vegetables to balance flavours.
The creme brulee was curdled and there was no fruit with the brulee , which , once again , being so rich needs fruit to balance the flavours.
The liqueur coffees and chocolate tart were lovely.

4 of us had a meal here on Wednesday evening. The food was lovely (3 of us had salmon and one had mussels) , followed by delicious desserts. Our evening was made by our server Ana (I think she is the manager) who was so entertaining, friendly and funny. She made us laugh the minute we walked in and we didn’t stop laughing all evening. She also gave us good advice on our choice of wine and desserts. We had a brilliant time and would certainly recommend.

Came in last night, we came in as a group of people, our waitress Holly was very welcoming, hung our coats up even though the restaurant was busy and talked us through both menus which we were slightly unsure about. Holly also recommended a great wine for us to have based on her recommendations of the Beef cheek. As she had a very busy evening, she most definitely made sure we were all looked after. As we arrived a lovely manager Anna welcomed us in and taken us to our seats. Thank you so much for making our night!!
