Wonderful meal! We opted for the tartare, steak frites and the two specials they had. A burger and a corned beef sandwich. All were delicious. The burger was def a standout. The steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were a perfect side. I wish the steak sauce was a bit thicker, but still great. The tartare was yummy too, wish it had a mustard of sorts but the bread was delicious too. The restaurant is quite small and the barrel tables are a tad awkward to sit at but still a great time!

Best of the best steak in the city!!
FOOD:
• Steak tartare: I can feel the freshness all over my mouth. I’m not sure what’s the marinate/ spice in here but it’s just awesome.

• Ribeye: love that the steak is not burned to the ground on the outside like many other American steakhouse do. The cut is perfect, cooked to perfect.

VIBE: it’s very busy on the weekends, almost impossible to get a seat. I waited nearly 3 hours but it totally worth it. I seat outside in the patio sipping wine is a summer night, it makes me miss my experience in europe so much.

A very distinctive French bistro — small yet refined, narrow but surprisingly complete in every detail. It carries the atmosphere of an old street corner, drawing you into the world of French literature. You can see the kitchen and the meat-preparation counter directly, and everything is fresh and delicious.

We walked in on a sunday afternoon, they had just opened so several tables were available. We ordered the following:

1. Pressed potato pavé & button chanterelles au champagne (w/o panchetta): so delicious, creamy, potatoes were well cooked, chanterelles so meaty, paired with some bread to soak up all the sauces!

2. Confit de canard & new potatoes à la crème: crispy duck skin, meat falling off the bones, delicious cream, everything came together in each bite.

3. Steak frites 10oz et sauce au poivre: steak was a little under for us personally but it was otherwise a delightful meal. Steak and fries, what’s not to love?

4. Mousse au chocolat ‘70%’ & fleur de sel: best decision ever.

Service was impeccable, we sat at the bar and our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also spotted the panchetta in the potato dish that we requested to be made w/o, and was quick to have a new one made.

What a great spot for a meal, we’ll definitely be back!

Such an amazing experience here I can’t recommend it enough. The service was impeccable especially the hostess even though it was a busy night. She was very transparent and communicative about the wait time. The waiters were phenomenal so kind and attentive. We were served right away and got delicious meals. I will be back as soon as possible!

One of the best meals of my life. This place was very small. Very comfy. The staff was very casual and chill, yet always professional. My server (the guy at the bar) and even the cook who came out both expressed so much care and attention to detail in the meal that had been served. Both a wealth of knowledge and personality they greatly added to what already was an amazing meal. The food was as good on the eyes as it was on my pallet and stomach. Nothing and I mean nothing was just okay or so so. Wine, app and entre all where fantastic. I long for the day I can get back to Toronto and indulge in the atmosphere and food of Cote de Boeuf, once again.

Visited with my daughter for the first time when they opened at noon for lunch. Ordered the beef tartare, cod fish cake and steak frites. Very generous portion of beef tartare and we had to get extra toast as there was so much leftover. Very fresh and tasty, perfectly balanced. Fish was okay, still delicious but I would’ve preferred a firmer fish cake texture. It blended in with the same texture of the sauce. Steak frites was a generous portion and absolutely delicious and flavourful. The reason why we came! The frites were also amazing, thin, crispy and addictive! Will be back again!

I celebrated my birthday at this little French bistro… and I loved it so much — I had to share it with you ✨

They only take walk-ins (yes, even at 3pm on weekends it’s still packed). It’s a bit tight inside, but honestly the cozy vintage vibe makes it feel warm, charming, and not too fancy — exactly my kind of French spot.

Here’s what we ordered:
️ Escargots Au Beurre, Persillé Et Ail ($18)
Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye ($78)
Smoked Sardine & Cantabrian Anchovies ($24)

Every dish hit the mark, but the smoked sardine shocked me the most — rich, layered, and the eggplant + tomato pairing was perfection. Totally underrated (thank you to the staff for recommending it!).

The ribeye was cooked perfectly: tender, juicy, with butter that melted right into every bite. And the duck-fat potatoes? 10/10.

The escargots were good, just not unforgettable.

And the sweetest moment of the night? They knew it was my birthday and surprised me with a Mousse au chocolat ‘70%’ & fleur de sel as a cake ✨
So rich, so smooth, and not too sweet — unbelievable that two of us finished everything

If you’re looking for a cozy, vintage French spot for a date or a celebration, add this one to your list
Save this for your next dinner!

Don’t be fooled by the small, cozy, casual setting, the food here is top notch more like fine dining. Has to be one of the best steaks I have had in the city. Here you get high quality AAA steaks for a bargain compared to other places.

The vegetables and potatoes complimented the steak very well. Steak was cooked to perfection.

The place is very laid back, service was awesome. I will definitely be back.
