FOOD:
• Steak tartare: I can feel the freshness all over my mouth. I’m not sure what’s the marinate/ spice in here but it’s just awesome.
• Ribeye: love that the steak is not burned to the ground on the outside like many other American steakhouse do. The cut is perfect, cooked to perfect.
VIBE: it’s very busy on the weekends, almost impossible to get a seat. I waited nearly 3 hours but it totally worth it. I seat outside in the patio sipping wine is a summer night, it makes me miss my experience in europe so much.
1. Pressed potato pavé & button chanterelles au champagne (w/o panchetta): so delicious, creamy, potatoes were well cooked, chanterelles so meaty, paired with some bread to soak up all the sauces!
2. Confit de canard & new potatoes à la crème: crispy duck skin, meat falling off the bones, delicious cream, everything came together in each bite.
3. Steak frites 10oz et sauce au poivre: steak was a little under for us personally but it was otherwise a delightful meal. Steak and fries, what’s not to love?
4. Mousse au chocolat ‘70%’ & fleur de sel: best decision ever.
Service was impeccable, we sat at the bar and our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He also spotted the panchetta in the potato dish that we requested to be made w/o, and was quick to have a new one made.
What a great spot for a meal, we’ll definitely be back!
They only take walk-ins (yes, even at 3pm on weekends it’s still packed). It’s a bit tight inside, but honestly the cozy vintage vibe makes it feel warm, charming, and not too fancy — exactly my kind of French spot.
Here’s what we ordered:
️ Escargots Au Beurre, Persillé Et Ail ($18)
Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye ($78)
Smoked Sardine & Cantabrian Anchovies ($24)
Every dish hit the mark, but the smoked sardine shocked me the most — rich, layered, and the eggplant + tomato pairing was perfection. Totally underrated (thank you to the staff for recommending it!).
The ribeye was cooked perfectly: tender, juicy, with butter that melted right into every bite. And the duck-fat potatoes? 10/10.
The escargots were good, just not unforgettable.
And the sweetest moment of the night? They knew it was my birthday and surprised me with a Mousse au chocolat ‘70%’ & fleur de sel as a cake ✨
So rich, so smooth, and not too sweet — unbelievable that two of us finished everything
If you’re looking for a cozy, vintage French spot for a date or a celebration, add this one to your list
Save this for your next dinner!
The vegetables and potatoes complimented the steak very well. Steak was cooked to perfection.
