We ordered the pris fixe menu for Coolinary. Nearly everything was excellent, my favorites being the shishito peppers and the tuna tartare. Nice beer and wine selection. Definitely a special-occasion place for the prices

A beautiful neighborhood gem with a cute bar. Cocktails were delicious, the Costera G&T is a must. We tried so many things on the menu and the majority was very good. I’ll go back for sure 🙂

Here’s a revised version with a different angle and a sharper but still credible tone:

We chose this restaurant for Valentine’s Day expecting a special experience, but it completely missed the mark. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt chaotic rather than romantic. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, we waited long stretches without updates, and simple requests were forgotten. The food, when it finally arrived, was lukewarm and underwhelming, especially for the price point. For a night that was meant to feel thoughtful and memorable, the experience felt rushed and poorly managed. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype.

On February 14th at 8PM, we were seated in the very back of the restaurant with a divider panel placed between our table and the rest of the dining area. Throughout the evening, surrounding tables received consistent attention while our table was largely ignored. Our waitress was noticeably dismissive and rude in her tone and interactions with us. The difference in treatment compared to nearby guests was obvious and uncomfortable. The experience felt discriminatory and deeply unsettling.

The perfect place to step up date night. The happy hour was relaxed, tapas were filling, and the unique house cocktails were worth a second round.

Holy. Crap. THIS is one of, if not THEE best restaurant I have ever been too. I have ate all over the country, cheap food, expensive food, fancy food, dove bar food. This restaurant right here is AMAZING. I will post pics, and I couldn’t tell you any of the dish names other than we both got the tasting menu. 5 courses. $65 per person. Absolutely incredible. The wine suggested throughout by the waiter was amazing too. Exquisite descriptions of the food, as well as ingredients. A+ service. A+ atmosphere. Go here. Period. Absolutely incredible and we will be back. See photos!!!!!!!

Here is a short, measured version that communicates concern without making an unsubstantiated accusation:

We left this restaurant feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. While other tables were checked on regularly and served promptly, we experienced long waits and noticeably different treatment throughout the evening. It was disappointing, especially on Valentine’s Day. We truly hope this was not intentional, but the experience did not feel equitable.

I have eaten all over Spain from Barcelona all the way down the coast Valencia, the Costa del Sol, Andalucia and everything I’m between and was very excited to check out this Spanish inspired restaurant. They started us off with classic tapas like olives, and white beans salad and mixed in with ones slightly different twist like the focaccia toast with anchovy and a pesto like spread, iced roasted mushrooms, a hamachi sashimi style dish and a charred tuna. Charred shishito peppers did an admirable job sitting in for the charred padrones you find all over Spain.

We had the family style so we got to try a bit of everything and can I just say for $65 a person it was soooooo much food. The main course after the 7 plates of tapas was a PERFECTLY cooked ribeye that was generously slathered with a chimmichurri sauce, strong enough to provide a slight tartness kick but mild enough to not overwhelm the steak. The redfish dish was equally wonderful but by this time we were already stuffed! Patatas Bravas were also cooked perfectly.

2 very atypical non Spanish desserts came to the table – a slice of key lime pie and chocolate mousse pie. I think I would have preferred a light delicate flan or an arroz con leche or maybe even a fully churro dipped in chocolate to name 3 more traditional Spanish desserts but never mind. I am not a dessert person usually anyway and I’m sure the pies are popular in New Orleans. They were just super heavy at the end of such a large meal. Regardless we all LOVED the restaurant overall. It was comfortable. Service was fabulous. Will def be back.

We tried the tasting menu, overall a very pleasant experience. Costera has a relaxing and camlful environment, I really like the vibe here.
The tasting menu is definitely more than enough for 2 people, and more towards seafood side. The flavor is overall sour and salty, which I’m not a big fan of. My favorite 3 dishes are the fired ball, mushroom and the desert.

Absolutely amazing meal! We took advantage of the Coolinary special with three courses per person and were pleasantly surprised that “three courses” meant 3-4 different items for appetizer and dinner, as well as two different desserts! They easily accommodated my friend’s shellfish allergy and everything was wonderful. Cocktails are delicious too. We felt so comfortable here, we ended up staying for almost 3 hours! I can’t wait to go back.
