I’ve come here with my boyfriend about 3 times now. Every single time we are impressed. It’s a very clean and attractive restaurant with delicious meals. We get the papusas every time- they’re awesome. Honduran tacos were a big hit too. Definitely make the trip if you’re nearby.

If you are black do not go here. They will have you sitting and waiting for hours with not as much as a “would you like a water? Sorry for the wait”. All the tables that came in after us were able to order, be served and left before we could even PLACE an order for our drinks. Mind you that is just to order the dang drinks not actually have them be served. They can’t control their client as we received unwarranted dirty looks from several of their customers. Our food came out cold. 1 hr wait… for 3 sad cold birria tacos and to be ignored the entire night. I serve my country. I serve my country only to spend my money on what felt like a slap in the face. We were the last to leave the establishment. We weren’t ghetto. We weren’t loud. The place was almost empty when we came with the exception of the table the host was throwing napkins back and forth at(assuming her friends) i could cry right now. Worst experience. Terrible

Loved the birria tacos. Husband said the beans on his platter were perfect. Service was great – they even turned down the music for us since we had our baby. One of the waitresses came over to hold him too❤️❤️we’ll be back!

Left very dissatisfied and confused what type of cuisine Costa Del Mar represents. A large variety of Latin and Central American foods can be found. For starters, the salsa they served is extremely watered down. We ordered revueltas pupusas, sopa de res and pescado costa del mar. Pupusas alone were okay, but the salsa roja and curtido that came with it was bland. Lack of flavor and seasoning in the fish and the protein in my fiancé’s soup was all fat. Expensive for what you pay for.

I’m conflicted. A really nice restaurant and really good food. But two waitresses who acted like we were an annoyance. With only two tables with customers, she came back to our table 0 times after giving us our meal. Over 30 minutes. And we had to go up to the bar where she was eating ice cream to ask her for our check.

Used to be El Rey, but this was a nice surprise to find in its place! We got Honduran tacos, and chicharron y queso pupusas, both were outstanding.
The Honduran tacos come with a tangy crema on top that is *delicious*, and the pupusas were freshly made, and fried perfectly. It was so refreshing to not get a pre-frozen and doughy pupusa around the area. These guys absolutely nailed all the food – the beans were seasoned perfectly, the refried are done with black beans which I prefer, and the avocado was super fresh.
They are quick with the service, and with a smile, but aren’t privy to small talk. If you want fake friendly servers, don’t bother these kind people. They are hard at work making delicious food!!
10/10 would recommend.

The food was so delicious and authentic. It’s been 20 years since I had amazing Honduran delicacy. 5 out of 5 definitely recommend and worth my drive from Norfolk to Newport News. Everything was up to par, the food, the service and the atmosphere. Best restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much for giving me a taste from home.

Excellent food, unfortunately today I managed 30 minutes from Williamsburg, because on the website it says they close at 10, but we arrived exactly at 9:25 and the kitchen was already closed, and I can understand but if you are going to close earlier please specify the correct time, thank you.
