During what seemed a slow Saturday early evening (~6pm), I waited for what was of course a large order, for my family.
This was all normal, extra time was needed for order size no problem, so I’ll just highlight my issue.
I ordered a hoagie burger. (Lettuce, mayo, tomato, cheese, onion)
I get it home, to discover it only had cheese. I returned for a refund or replacement.
This is where it got exciting.
I got it home, and opened it… And the mayo was stil missing + the “new” fries they stated were given, had the same general temp as room temp.
It’s like buying a car without oil. Sure most it’s there, but unless I asked for that.. I wanted the item requested in full.
(I used to be a cook/bartender, I get mistakes happen.. but twice for the same order almost seems on purpose)
Bright side, the AC felt nice in the hot air.

This place is an interesting combination of features. Right through the door, it definitely has dated VFW-like vibes with the vinyl backed chairs and patterned vinyl tablecloths like you’d find at grandma’s house. The menu wasn’t much different, looking like it hadn’t been updated in several decades. The fare was standard American food. They did have a brat burger on a pretzel bun that intrigued me and was pretty decent, but it didn’t exactly rock my world.
The server was also the bartender and seemed to be the only one there, so the service wasn’t exceptional, but it wasn’t awful, either. The bloody Mary, however, was exceptional, and tasted like it might have been a homemade mix. I would definitely recommend ordering one of those.
The river view was nice, and the patio was a decent side, but the building casts a deep shadow, so it was too chilly to eat outside when we went. Where the restaurant shines, though, is the Circus mural they found while renovating. Instead of tearing it down or covering it up, they encased it with glass for all to enjoy. It’s really a fun touch, but it’s not in the main dining area, so you do have to make an effort to find it. It’s well worth it, though!

I have to agree with the prior reviews that all agree the service is friendly but slow. Everything seemed to take much longer than you would expect. I also heard a good deal of laughing and giggling from “The back”, so I’m glad the staff is happy here, but as far as being a well-oiled machine, not so much.
I feel the menu is too extensive- pages and pages. It should be streamlined to fewer things that they can get out of the kitchen faster.
Prices are good! River view is awesome (when it’s not raining)

Roasted chicken was great. French fries are better than the norm. Hubs loved the Thursday night special all you can eat ribs. Salad was not great but not awful. Cheesecurds were good. Pie was also very good. View was nice.

Such a cute place, it was a combo bar/supper club/venue, we had this as a halfway meeting point as we were traveling from MN to WI and we accidentally sat in the venue area and it was so cute!! I was obviously like “this is where I want to be” but then we were told it’s for the venue area lol oops! So we went to the bar area to wait for our friends and as we walked throug, it had a supper club feel in the middle and then we went to the bar and the waitress was just such a sweetheart and you could tell she really knew her regulars and I loved that they have the shake of the day dice , definitely totally Wisconsin all the way lol. My best review is the bloody Mary! It was literally amazing! Exactly how I used to make them, it hit everything I wanted in a bloody, perfect mix, I will always make this a halfway stop now just for that bloody Mary!

Extensive menu with Senior & Children sized offerings, plus daily specials…serving breakfast, lunch & dinner…not a fancy place, but I go for the food…nice patio/deck area overlooking the Chippewa River…but a must see is the 9’x55′ Circus ad poster from 1885 in one of the dining rooms…they also feature live music, a Friday Night Fish Fry & Broasted Chicken for dine-in or takeout…located on the main drag near the west end of the downtown…I always look forward to stopping there for a bite & a brew, when I’m in Durand visiting friends.

We had the special of the day which was fried chicken with potato dumplings with a side of coleslaw and cranberry sauce. Though we didn’t have any, we saw the home made yeast rolls cooling in the back room…smelled delicious. The service was great, our food came quickly and Don, the owner, filled us in on the history of the restaurant, its unique circus poster and the town happenings. We enjoyed sitting inside at a table overlooking the Chippewa River. We would definitely recommend it to others.

We met a friend for lunch here. It is a very Wisconsin home town restaurant and bar. They had a good bar selection and wide range menu all at good prices. I had the meatloaf special with homemade mashed potatoes and it was excellent (the corn on the side was not so great). My wife liked her chicken Caesar salad.
