It is a small town Mexican restaurant. Not the worst nor the best, but it was pretty good. Only one waitress so she had a few tables to take care of. It was slow service due to that, salsa and tea had to be asked to refill. Those are my biggest concerns at a Mexican restaurant, salsa and tea. Don’t let them run out. Plus it was a late dinner so they closed in like 30 min from when we got there. We had been passing through so we would give them another shot next time we are down there.

Came here after the remodel and I am impressed at how good it looks now. Love that I can people watch through the big windows in the bar area. Service was good. Food was surprisingly good for this area. Would love to come back!

Stopped in at Coronas in Rockdale with my biking buddies for lunch, and let me just say — the chips and salsa were fantastic! We almost didn’t even order lunch .
The service was great, the food was solid, and the whole experience was exactly what we were hoping for. We’ll definitely be back!

Went there for lunch today. Me and my husband got the fajitas for 2 which was $34.99 plus tea. They only give you 2 tortillas per person so I asked for 2 more, additional 1 for each of us. They charged me $1.99 for those 2 extra tortillas. Absolutely ridiculous!

Got a salad and the ranch was off whenever I made. The staff aware after more than one of us tasted our table and confirmed that it was off said it wasn’t off the shrimp on one of the plates was dry.The chick is dry in the salad and they also make their staff cry and blame the waitstaff.Whenever the kitchen makes mistakes. I used to love going there to corona’s, but it’s gone downhill in the last near twenty years.I wouldn’t suggest it.

Just cruising through and got hungry on our way home. Good Mexican food that far from the border is a rarity, but thought we would give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The feel of the restaurant from the colors to the furniture and decorations was very authentic Mexican! The salsa was better than 99% of the restaurants within an hour of the border. Just delicious. The Coronas enchiladas were what I ordered and they were all fantastic. Check this place out if you happen to be driving through and want good Mexican food. I gave 5 stars because even though the service from the first waiter was a little slow, another waiter noticed the lack of service and stepped right in to help us. How great is that!

Food is always good. Have been here several times and never a bad meal. The people are top natch in the kitchen and in servace. Always worth a stop. Personal favorite is the Lupe’s Shrimp plate. Great people. Great Resturant.

First off the food was good. The service was understaffed, & unorganized. Host tried to seat people out of order. Queso arrived, but took 10 more minutes to get chips. The waitress had to many tables to handle. Enchiladas were good especially liked the pablano sauce. The barbacoa tacos were excellent. Staff was friendly, & I will try it again, hopefully they can hire more help. The meals & queso for $32, so it is affordable. Finally I had to tell the cashier what I had eaten in order to finally check out, 1 cashier, & ticket seemed to be lost. Cashier needs to be able to stay at their register.

Visited for the first time since The Pandemic. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is well maintained and clean.
My FIL had the Beef Barbacoa with charro beans and enjoyed the meal very much.
My wife had the El Rey combo with refried beans and extra tortillas. The beef fajita was soooo delicious, the meat cooked to perfection and the rest was excellent.
I had the Shrimp Avocado with beef enchilada and tortilla soup. The flavor of the avocado was good, but there could be more shrimp in the dish imo. The beef enchilada and tortilla soup were as expected.
The chips and salsa brought to us was delicious, especially the creamy jalapeno. They have a good variety of beer to choose from and the food was reasonably priced.

Our first time to eat here. Went to Rockdale for the October Fest. Stopped in here to cool off and eat. Service was good and food was good. We recommend if your looking for good Tex-Mex…we would go back. I had the Chalupa plate, husband had chorizo hamburger, daughter had the tamales, and grandson had the kids enchilada plate.
