Details:
Our family of five adults stopped by Coromandel Cuisine of India in Milford, CT, for lunch while traveling, and it turned out to be an excellent experience. The restaurant is conveniently located close to New Haven and easy to find.
We arrived around 12:30 PM on a Saturday, and while the restaurant wasn’t too busy initially, it started filling up soon after. The ambience was calm, pleasant, and nicely decorated — giving a comfortable yet upscale dining feel.
Food & Presentation: We ordered two appetizers — Coromandel Sham Savera and Lasuni Gobi. Both were excellent in taste and beautifully presented. The Sham Savera had four pieces served with a bit of rice and a rich tomato-based sauce, garnished with spices — a unique and flavorful dish. The Lasuni Gobi came crispy, accompanied by a colorful salad of beet, carrot, and radish. The presentation for both dishes showed a lot of attention to detail.
For the main course, we chose Kaikari Kuruma and Paneer Hare Pyaaza, along with a mix of breads — chilli naan, paratha, and chapathis. The curries were flavorful, perfectly balanced in spice (we chose medium), and portion sizes were generous — we even had some leftovers. Both entrees came with servings of rice. It was particularly nice to see traditional chapathi on the menu, which is often hard to find and a great lighter option compared to naan.
Service & Ambience: The service was excellent. The waitstaff were polite, attentive, and efficient — always moving around and ensuring guests were taken care of. The cutlery was good quality, though it would be helpful if they included a spoon in the set.
The restaurant’s interior was well-decorated with thoughtful details, and the restrooms were spotless and nicely maintained. There’s also a bar area, adding to the full dining experience. While the lot and surrounding buildings appear a bit old, the place felt safe and welcoming inside.
Pricing: The restaurant is slightly on the pricier side (around $20 per person), but the quality of food, presentation, and service justify the cost.
Overall: Everyone in our family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. With excellent flavors, great presentation, courteous service, and a pleasant atmosphere, Coromandel Cuisine of India in Milford easily earns a 5/5 from us.
Would definitely recommend to anyone craving authentic and refined Indian cuisine in the New Haven area.

When most of the clientele are Indian, you know that you’re at the right spot for delicious authentic Indian cuisine
We started with the Coromandel Platter (for 2) as an appetizer and it was a great variety of chicken, and lamb items. I loved everything except the chicken wings. I feel like they didn’t add anything to the platter. Everything else was excellent.
Also tried the Beef Rogan Josh (beef curry) and the Laal Maas (lamb curry). Both dishes were fantastic and would highly recommend them. The meat was tender and the sauce had a little bit of a spicy kick, but nothing crazy.
Naan bread was fresh and fluffy.
The servers were very polite and attentive.
