After a long morning at the U of U fertility clinic, my wife and I stepped into Corner Bakery hoping for a quick, decent breakfast—and walked out pleasantly surprised by just how dialed-in this place is. The location is ideal—literally across from the U’s clinics—making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal post-appointment or a pre-work bite.

You’re welcomed by a calming, clean interior with classic cafe vibes: warm wood tones, iconic diner energy, and a laid-back pace that feels local. We were greeted immediately by a kind staff member who offered to warm our cinnamon roll (yes, it’s worth it) and even asked how many sets of silverware we needed—a thoughtful touch you don’t often get at casual spots.

We ordered the Anaheim Scrambler and chose different sides—oatmeal for me and fresh fruit for my wife. The oatmeal came with a dash of cinnamon sugar and was the real deal—not cheap instant oats, but full-bodied, hearty grains. The fruit was surprisingly fresh and ripe, with crisp grapes, sweet melon, and no filler. The scrambler itself was fantastic: fluffy eggs, well-balanced seasoning, chopped tomato and green onion throughout, and creamy avocado slices on top. Every bite felt both indulgent and light.

The food came out fast—impressively fast, especially given how many other people were dining in. Our table was clean and well-lit, and there was plenty of space to settle in. We also noticed their shaded outdoor patio with string lights and comfortable seating—had it been warmer, we would’ve enjoyed that spot for sure.

Corner Bakery also has a full pastry case at the front if you’re in the mood for a grab-and-go sweet. Our cinnamon roll was gooey, soft, and generously frosted. Pro tip: ask for it warmed.

Ample parking is available right in front of the restaurant, which is a nice bonus for a location this central.

Final take: this place nails speed, freshness, and hospitality. It’s casual comfort food done right—and the kind of spot that makes you want to come back.

5 stars. Would absolutely return.

Don’t let the name fool you. It’s much more than a bakery. Sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta. I can’t get enough of the baked potato soup. Best I’ve ever had. I need to pace myself so I don’t get sick of it. I had the soup 3 times in 10 days. It’s THAT good!!

I came here with a group for hot chocolate and treats. The hot chocolate was too hot to drink until we left and tasted less flavorful and creamy than a store bought packet of Swiss Miss. I would not recommend it. They don’t have any gluten free treats (which I assumed) but those who bought food enjoyed it.

I asked the staff about gluten free options. They were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They said there is gluten free bread that can be substituted on the sandwiches but there is not a separate toaster (all bread is generally toasted) and I didn’t think to ask about the condiments for cross contamination. Some of the salads they said could be made gluten free.

There was lots of seating and the restaurant was clean.

Nothing was fresh
VERY DISAPPOINTED
Came on a Sunday. Got Oatmeal cookie, filled croissant, maple bar, mini bunt cake, Shrimp Scampi, and Turkey and Avacado .
Everything was stale. The croissant was days old as was every baked good. This stuff should have been on the reduced pice shelf at the local grocery store.
Been wanting to come for years and dont need to again.
Oh and the cost for stale food….
Dont get me started.

It’s just what you would expect from a Corner Bakery. The line moves quickly. The food doesn’t take long to come out. There is plenty of seating. I was actually surprised by the portion sizes of the pick two. The salad was good. The soup was hot. Quick and easy lunch stop.

My sweet son has leukemia and we come here after every chemo or surgery because its his absolute FAVORITE restaurant on the planet and makes him feel better. The food is always so amazing and you can taste the freshness and quality. The staff actually acts like nice human beings compared to other restaurants in Salt Lake. You walk into this beautiful Cafe and instantly feel calmer. Food doesn’t take ages to come out, they’re quite fast, but not too fast that you get suspicious. I wish there were more locations so I could eat the food more frequently as we live near an hour away. 5 stars isn’t enough. 10/5

I came into this location because I had a gift card. That’s the only reason I’d visit as it’s super overpriced for what you get. They advertised a blue cheese and beef sandwich on their site and signs in the store. When I went to order it they told me it was no longer on the menu and to order the beef and cheddar as it’s “basically the same thing.. ended up ordering a broccoli cheese soup and turkey sandwich. Got to my office and first spoonful pulled a large black hair out with it. I am bald so I’m positive it did not belong to me. There is no option on their website to have the store contact you so I had to take it back in. They apologized and refunded the amount I paid on my own card. I asked what about the gift card I used. Was told I hadn’t purchased it there so there was nothing they could do. She did offer to remake my food but at this point I no longer had an appetite. I will not be back to this establishment which is a shame as it’s within walking distance from my office.

Restaurant felt queued and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was okay, soup was not super flavorful and the bread was very dry. I’m sure the baked goods were delicious but we didn’t try those
