A got a medium sugar free latte with oatmilk. It was a very good size medium drink and 100% justified the cost.
The workers did become very busy while I was there, however when I came in it did take them a little bit of time to notice me and take my order. I want to clarify when I came in I was the only person in line and the store only had a few other people. The store owner did keep coming around to check on people which was super nice. The workers were all very professional and friendly. My drink came out super quick.
I did discover this place on redit saying it was a good study spot. I will have to disagree while I found a spot to get work and studying done it is a lot more of a restaurant sit down and talk place. Music was just a touch loud for studying. However that’s redit’s fault not the store.
Everything smelled delicious and looked amazing. I was there for a few hours and they were constantly baking new items. It all is very obviously made fresh and when the customer orders.
The store location is in a good little area. There are plenty of stores and things to do after you dine. The parking lot is a little odd. But it is free parking and very big. This is not a complaint about the restaurant just simply for customer knowledge. If I was in the area I would come back again.

I’m not quite sure how a chain restaurant like this is still in business but I would imagine the Corner Bakery chain must not be doing very well after my first and last experience this past week. Consumers have plenty of other better options. I’ve never been to any Corner Bakery until the Alamo Quarry location but I was met with terrible customer service. Unfriendly and unsmiling staff. Unhelpful in every way. The cashier didn’t ask me if I was a rewards member during checkout. The meal was way too expensive for what it was. One muffin, a small coffee, and a small yogurt with fruit/ granola came to almost $15. Way too expensive I could have gone to a much nicer local gourmet coffee shop for that cost and had more food and larger specialty coffee. I ordered a decaf coffee and wasn’t even told by the cashier during checkout that they don’t have decaf. When I went to the area to get coffee I discovered that they didn’t have any decaf. I asked another lady if she could make a decaf Americano and she did but then acted strange when I had to ask her for hot water to be added. The whole experience was off-putting and then we had to wait almost 15 for our muffin and yogurt. The restaurant wasn’t busy and it seemed like the staff just weren’t trying. The straw for me was the extremely dirty restrooms. They were clearly not cleaned from the day before since we were there early in the morning and the walls had liquid looking stains that had probably been there awhile. The floors in the bathroom and in the dining area were very sticky. I took pictures of all of this. Between the staff attitudes and the dirty bathrooms, it’s safe to say this place is being poorly managed and you should spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Oh and the yogurt was disgustingly sweet and inedible. Total disappointment!

We stopped here Saturday March 22nd around 1 pm. I had high hopes. It’s a cute restaurant and has a good selection of breakfast and lunch dishes on the menu. However, the restaurant is poorly run with lack of management. It was not busy . Just a total of 3 parties there at the time. 6 – 8 tables had not been cleared. The cashier was new and had to ask someone else multiple questions as we ordered. She and a couple of employees were standing around doing nothing after we ordered and no new customers came in. After a few minutes , we went to inquire about our order (oatmeal) and found out it had not been made because the cashier had not been instructed by anyone that it was HER job to make it and bring it to the table.(She was standing there looking at her phone when I approached the counter). 2 or maybe 3 other employees could be seen milling about in the back.
I can’t blame her too much. It was her first day.
Who was running this place? Why wasn’t anyone training her? Why was everyone standing around doing nothing while there were dirty tables? Are the tables supposed to clean themselves? Is a new employee supposed to teach herself? Just a total failure of management. It’s a shame. I can’t say whether the food is any good because we cancelled our order and got a refund. Probably won’t return.

2/8/25 UPDATE FROM TODAY’S BRUNCH
After posting my review from my family’s last visit in December, Mr. Castaneda (the district manager) reached out to me to hear more about my experience. He listened to every concern I shared and never rushed me off the phone. He appreciated the feedback and hoped we would return as that was not their standards. He left his point of contact and said for me to reach out when we’d return for a second chance. Honestly, I thought I would be ignored or have to jump through hoops to get in contact with him. I messaged him this morning and he was quick to respond and remembered the conversation we had. He also followed up with me after our dining experience. I am happy to say that the experience this time around was amazing. THIS was the Corner Bakery I knew and bragged about to others. The manager and staff were friendly and welcoming. They had smiles on their face and were very attentive to every customer. The restaurant was clean and orderly. Tables were clean and no dishes were stacking. And oh my goodness…the food was amazing!!! It was nice and warm, delicious and the presentation was great. The temperature in the building was perfect. No freezing temperature like before that made our food ice cold. The pancakes are the best I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled the country eating at different places. My family and I will be returning, hungry for more.

Thank you again Mr. Castaneda and the crew today for a great brunch experience for my family and loved ones who came into town to visit.

For the first time in years, my family and I left this place completely disappointed and honestly a tad disgusted. Had it not been for the chaos of my kids and family visiting who were starving and craving the amazing pancakes, we would’ve walked out. The whole place was dirty. This place used to be very welcoming but not today. No greeting or happy faces behind the register. No one cleaning the tables. No ice in the ice machine. The counter where the condiments, cup lids etc is warped probably due to a leak in the machine. The carpet was filthy. The chairs and tables sticky with gunk. The restaurant was freezing cold. Had to grab sweaters just to eat comfortably. Our food got cold right away that it wasn’t truly enjoyable. I don’t know what’s going on with the Quarry location but it has gone downhill BAD!!! I can honestly say I won’t be back here for a good while. I’ll try Corner bakery again but not at this location. Hoping this goes to the right people so they can make the necessary changes.

The fact this place has a 4.1 is a crime! Everything we got was amazing. The uptown turkey avocado sandwich, pesto cavateppi, and Cesar salad were fantastic. The Cesar dressing was some of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is cute and modern. Ill be making this a go to lunch spot.

Had their power grain salad with chicken and it was really good. The portion of chicken was laughable, but the server asked if I wanted more cause that was very small and I said yes. She came with a whole cup of chopped chicken and my salad was then huge. I was going to give a 4 start rating because of the portion, but the server and staff more than made up for it.

The coffee is also pretty great. Both Europe’s and Hazelnut blends were very smooth and flavorful.

Overall, good spot for casual brunch or breakfast.

This location never has soups even when it’s early. 3rd time coming and it’s always the same story. Why have it on the menu if you never have it. Also no chips today? Like how! Might never come back again.

Edit: nevermind with 3 stars. I give it 1 star. What is this? How did my food come out to 35 for only a 2 sandwiches no sides and a drink?

Started off on the wrong foot with a cup of “hand-roasted coffee” that tasted like someone poured hot water through a potted plant. Then I watched four episodes of The Last of Us while waiting for my order. At one point, I went to the bathroom and came back to find my table cleared even though all that was there was the so-called coffee and the table tent number that very clearly signaled I was still waiting for food. Pretty sure I got sick afterward too, which might have had something to do with the staff member coughing all over the place and then being the one to bring out my meal. Panini was aggressively average. Fruit cup looked and tasted like it had fully given up on life. Minimal effort across the board. Wouldn’t go back.

I was very disappointed in our first visit to this location. I knew something was up when we walked into the empty restaurant during breakfast service. The floors were filthy, obviously not having been cleaned from the previous day, food and paper from straw wrappers littered the sticky floor.

We asked for print menus which are easier for my father to read (than the menu hanging overhead), but the paper printout they gave us had not been updated since 2014 and had some items they no longer carry. I saw no “real” menus like I have been used to at other Corner Bakery locations .

We finally ordered, but the tea bags were not replenished so the cashier had to hunt around for some. The coffee was lukewarm. They ran out of cup sleeves, so they doubled up on cups to make it easier to hold a hot cup (in hindsight, probably not necessary for the coffee!)

When we went to the restroom, there was no toilet paper. The manager asked the cashier to restock the restroom (there was only the manager, cashier and cook from what I could see). She disappeared and when she returned, said she said she did that. But I returned the restroom to still find an empty stall!!

I chatted with the manager asked about the situation and he said he receives no support. He has broken booths, no menus and a filthy restaurant. He just shrugged his shoulders and said it is what it is.

The food was okay, but this location is at the bottom of the rating scale compared to the Maryland and Colorado locations I have been used too!

I can’t believe this restaurant is still in business in the typically upscale Quarry shopping district. We will not be returning!
