Local chain serving breakfast, classic American fare & homemade pies in a casual setting.

Been here a few times and the food is good, service always good, also always busy. I got their BBQ bacon cheeseburger today and it was good, though a bit disappointed with the bbq sauce. It was fine, I guess, but mostly bland. Heard they make it in house, but can’t substantiate that. Sister got the chorizo breakfast burrito. Guys…it was huge. Plan to share or take half home if you get that or an omelette.

Brenda the manager at the Apple Valley location was incredible !
My wife and I sat down at the bar seating
and so impressed with the way she handled the very busy Saturday morning.
She was professional and on top of everything … taking care of all her servers and cooks making sure the orders went out on time and correct. Before leaving my wife and I wanted to let her know she was doing a great job. She had a warm smile and was very nice and easy to talk to…we will continue to come in as regular customers, but from now on, we will be sitting at the bar

Ordered a Corky’s pecan pie, $20.99, and the crust looks picked-over, with missing crust. If it wasn’t raining so hard, I’d return it now. Very disappointed for our family coming over to celebrate Christmas Eve.

Our MOAA (Military Officers of America Association) held our monthly Board of Directors meeting here at Corky’s, a gem of a restaurant in our High Desert. As always, the service and food (I enjoyed French Toast with scrambled eggs and bacon and coffee) hit the bull’s eye. The ambiance is homey and the historical photos of Apple Valley are delightful.

I had been a fan since even before I set foot in a Corky’s – that is, I enjoyed the menu that the owners had copied over to the Tole House Cafe in Fontana (minus the pies). I continued to love that place until it closed, and also visited the Corky’s in RC now and then. However, the quality has become gradually more bland over the years. But I was excited to see a new location open near my work, and went hoping the menu might be somewhat invigorated. While it was still pretty good, everything still fell short of my earlier memories, and I’m not sure it’s worth the price anymore. I will gladly say the pies are still just as good as ever, though that alone will not necessarily bring me in.

My wife and I decided to do a date night and since we haven’t been to Corky’s in a while we decided to go. We ordered the turkey dinner. While waiting for our food to arrive at our table we were watching the cook eat food with his bare hands while he was cooking. Once he was done eating, the cook was finally playing and dropped some food on the hot plate then proceeded to pick up the food he dropped, with the hands he was eating with and scooped the food back on to the plate to be served. Never wore gloves or left to wash his hands, nothing. Once the food arrived we asked for extra napkins and it took well over 10 minutes to get 2 additional napkins. Must be a shortage of paper goods. While eating I noticed a few pieces that didn’t look the part. I decided to investigate the issue a little further and noticed that the meat was RAW. I flagged down the manager and asked him about the meat and if it looked raw to him. He proceeded to ask me if “I knew about cuts of turkey”. He then said they put the white meat first and the dark meat second. I told him that wasn’t dark meat. The consistency was that of raw chicken. They never apologized, never took my plate away, never tried to make it right. Needless to say we will not be going back there until they learn about “raw meat” and “dark meat”. Disgusting!!!!!
I also tried emailing the email they left to try and make this right and it is not a working email.

03/24/2025 Update: Payed a visit to my local Corky’s with which I have had some good and some not so good experiences. My previous complaints were related to staffing or lack thereof. Today we can’t I’m around noon and it was fairly busy. However there were plenty of staff members on hand to handle the flow of traffic accordingly. Our server today was named Jamie, and she was amazing! Although she was super busy, she was cordial, attentive, professional, and overall in control of every task she was dealing with. She went above and beyond her call of duty and she deserves to be recognized for it. So thank you Jamie for being so awesome!
01-09-2025 Update; My previous review which was over a year ago, accented a staffing problem. At the time they only had one waitress handling everything most of the time. I’ve been back here twice in the past 3 months or so, and the staffing issue had been resolved.
First off, I’ve been visiting Corky’s kitchens throughout the inland empire for over a decade. So my experiences had always been really good. Then there’s this Corky’s here in Apple Valley, where I recently moved to. I don’t know if Corky’s is a franchise, but it seems to me that whomever owns and runs this particular one is not thinking straight. The problem is not the food, the atmosphere, the cleanliness or lack thereof. None of these things are a problem. But then there’s the staff. The last 3 times I’ve visited there had only been one waitress handling all the tables, all the door dash orders, and charging people for their bill. One person handling all that is just not acceptable! It took nearly a half hour for me to get my breakfast order. And I was by myself. I don’t know what the lady’s name is, but she’s an older lady who does an extremely good job considering what all she has on her plate. So my complaint is not against the person working there but rather against who is staffing this location. My guess is that it is a franchise and the owner doesn’t want to allocate much money towards staffing budget.
In one word, RIDICULOUS!!!

Absolutely love coming to Corky’s! Their plates are generous and delicious every time. Service is always friendly and helpful! Because it is so popular, be prepared to wait if you go on the weekends and especially around brunch time.

Went for Sunday brunch. There was no wait but you can join the waitlist online, which I love! The portions were bigger than I expected. Service was friendly and quick. We got some slices of pie to go and they were delicious. Definitely recommend for a good family spot.
