Sheraton Coral Reef Restaurant is extremely overpriced for what it offers.
Breakfast is $47 per person plus service charge. Honestly, that’s basically Holiday Inn–level breakfast with the only difference being smoked salmon. Completely not worth the price.
For visitors: walk five minutes to the right to Mala Ocean Tavern. Better food, better service, and you’re right in front of the ocean.
Dinner at Coral Reef is even worse. The menu tries too hard to be “creative” and ends up being overly greasy, overly salty and poorly executed. They use sweet potato starch pasta as a substitute for Italian pasta — imagine a sticky, gluey mess. They also did the same with Japanese udon, which came out stiff and unpleasant.
Service is practically nonexistent. When you ask for recommendations, the answer is basically “the more expensive one is better.” Food prices are far above the actual quality.
Ironically, the pool bar at the Sheraton is much better than this restaurant.

We had dinner at Coral Reef at the Sheraton and were mostly disappointed with the food.

The beet salad was actually the only dish that was okay and reasonably balanced. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.

My wife’s mushroom ravioli was overly salty and greasy, making it difficult to enjoy. I ordered the enoki beef dish with shredded beef, and it was also extremely greasy and far too salty. The oiliness completely overpowered the dish. I finished it only because I was hungry, not because it was good.

The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other tables, which unfortunately reflected the overall experience. For a restaurant in a Sheraton hotel, the food quality was a major letdown.

Overall, poor execution and disappointing flavors. We wouldn’t return.

Went over for the ube mochi pancakes. The view from the outdoor seating area is great and the atmosphere is very pleasant in the morning. The mochi pancakes had a high ratio of rice flour, making for very chewy pancakes. The ube flavor was very prominent and strong, and the deep purple color is real nice to look at. The pineapple pancakes had a nice sour & refreshing punch. Because they’re mochi pancakes, however, they’re quite heavy and rich, and it gets a bit tedious to eat after a while. A stack of 2 pancakes would’ve been more than enough.

From a Maui local, the food was delicious. The food is different than most of the restaurants here, offering a large variety of flavor and local ingredients. Nothing was overly salty, service was fast and consistent. Salad was a bit spicy from the pepper but I didn’t mind one bit, the flavor profiles are profound.

Located at the Sheraton Resort, they currently serve both breakfast and dinner only. Dinner however is limited for Fri-Mon. The food is phenomenal, staying there for a week, we went multiple times when they were open for dinner. The hostesses and servers were all very welcoming! The view is of the koi ponds directly in front, on the nights they have the fire dance, it is located directly in front of the restaurant. Portions are sizable, the shareable portions truly are meant to be shared. Our favorite shareable was the ribs, coral chopped salad, and the octopus. For entrees, the fried whole fish was unique but the kampacchi was probably the highlight! The lamb shank was phenomenal too!

Most items are good; I expected a little chat on my steak but there wasn’t any at all; pasta was mediocre too

Such a waste of money Breakfast buffet was $47 per person. But there was no salad and no jams for bread(can you believe this? I had to ask someone to get some strawberry jams). I was very disappointed with how limited the food selection was. I would never recommend this place.

This spot is best known for breakfast at the Sheraton, they have a great buffet and if staying at the hotel it’s your only choice unless you want a coffee and breakfast sandwich upstairs by the check in.

I’ll speak to the dinner which surprisingly only has a handful of reviews at the moment. We got the chopped salad, butternut squash ravioli, and the special that night was lamb chops macadamia nut encrusted. Honestly was the best dinner we had, tied with Mamas Fish House which was triple the price.

The service was fine, the vibe is definitely slow and like a breakfast kitchen that is trying to make a living with dinner options as well. So there’s no bar to hang out at, although they do serve drinks for dinner. So atmosphere is only 4/5, but definitely worth the food especially if you’re staying at the hotel and want a really good meal.

Their service is poor. I’m not sure if it’s the one hostess. I’m staying at the Sheraton and called the restaurant. They didn’t pick up. So I walked to the restaurant at 10 AM to make a reservation for the evening. She was busy with breakfast and told me that there wasn’t any space in the evening. There clearly was according to Open Table, so I booked on Open Table. When my family got there for dinner, the restaurant was half empty so I asked if we could be seated early, and she said we had to wait until our reserved time. This place needs a lesson in hospitality.

Awesome food. It’s a hidden gem of Sheraton. If you go on Sunday night you get special treat of fire show at 7 pm. Make reservations and request Nelson as your waiter
