We really enjoyed our dinner! The restaurant was very quiet since it was early on a Tuesday. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The star of the meal was by far the French escargot ravioli. Delicious and plenty to share. The chicken Wellington came as 4 large slices and was also very shareable as well as tasty. If I have one critique it was that both the Wellington and the burger could have been a little warmer. Some time passed between presentation of the uncut Wellington and then the actual service. I think it got a little too cool. That being said we enjoyed both entrees immensely. Delicious!! The complimentary cocktail served behind the bar to close out the meal was a nice touch and much appreciated. We loved our dinner and will for sure be back. (The rav is calling our name).

What a wonderful French bistro. Charming restaurant beautifully designed with a nouvea French vibe. The food was absolutely amazing. Beef Wellington was made to perfection as well as accompaniments. Cocktails were perfect. I’m not a wine drinker, but I did see quite an extensive collection. Our waiter explained everything on the menuand and the service was outstanding. Will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu.

Super cute, small space with a vibrant atmosphere. The decor definitely lives up to the restaurant group’s other venues. Overall recommend for a $$$ date night.
Cocktails were very tasty & on par with their neighbor. staff was very friendly & I got a special drink for my birthday, but we did have to wait a while 5-10 minutes for our server to come around. Also, it took a full hour from us sitting down to get our first appetizers. And when I asked for recommendations, the server pointed to the most expensive options.
As many other reviews note the portions are quite small, especially the appetizers. We ordered the beef Wellington & while would have been plenty to share we were not provided with that guidance. I think the whole fish portion would also have been enough to share. We enjoyed all the dishes & did not leave hungry.
We noted many of the reviews from last week mentioned an upset stomach & so avoided the seafood dishes. We had no problems.
After dinner were invited behind the bar for a tasting of their homemade Brandy – that was particularly unique & fun.

The food was delicious from beginning to end. We savored every single bite and every bite was as magnificent as the first. At the end we were invited to go behind the bar and try an after dinner drink.

My best friend and I came to this restaurant to celebrate her birthday eve. We were greeted by a very kind waiter who took the time to explain the menu. She received multiple cocktails on the house for her birthday and we ended the night of a tour of the spirits/wines that they serve. We ended up ordering two of the sweet cocktails (unfortunately don’t remember the names, but I bet any of them will be spectacular!), steak tartare, Parisian gnocchi and the overnight smoked vegetables. All AMAZING.The only thing we didn’t love is the bread they served with the steak tartare, it was just hard. Now, the prices are a bit steep, but for experience they give you, I say it’s definitely worth it for a special occasion or a date night. 10’s across the board– will be back to try the happy hour.

This places makes you feel like you stepped into a time machine & out into 70’s in Paris. Unique concepts of caviar “bumps”, going behind the bar for tastings, cotton candy clouds in your drink, mini foie cones, makes this a fun place to experience “firsts”. Love the amuse that accompanies some of the cocktails. If you get Aaron as your bartender, it’s your lucky day. His cocktails are on point, and he is so knowledgeable & attentive. He will also make sure you do a caviar bump if you’ve never done one before. The personal level of service of going behind the bar for tastings is unheard of, new, fresh & exciting. Took my cousin & their friends there to celebrate her 21st.

Coquette is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! The menu rotates fairly often which keeps each dining experience feeling fresh and unique. They use high-quality ingredients and have inventive takes on some traditional French classics. In my opinion, their burger is one of the best and most underrated in the city. The staff are extremely informed and friendly, often offering little complementary bites and drinks which makes you feel like you are dining with dear friends. I have been lucky enough to have several conversations with the Culinary Director Erwin Mallet and he is an absolute hoot, filled with wonderful stories and recommendations. Only a 15 minute walk from the United Center, it is also a great spot before a show or sporting event. This is cuisine done the right way at a perfectly reasonable price for the experience. Go check them out!

Coquette receives high marks for Restaurant Week. With the departure of Kiki’s and Avec this friendly neighborhood restaurant in the West Loop sets the tone for hip and trendy Parisian Bistro. The bar and entrance feels like a walk through a high style Art Deco vase. Venture further and it opens into a hip French restaurant akin to the Mondrian exhibit in the Louvre. Fun and funky vibes… Coquette was available for a Tuesday slot so I felt fortunate to be seated at a table near the bar. The bar service along with staff are top notch, with a playful wine and menu pairings for Restaurant Week. Popped open a Mary Taylor Red to go along-side a carnivorous appetite and it definitely hit the right notes. Notable choices at Coquette, Creme Du Barry (Roasted Cauliflower soup), Mouse de Foie De Volaille (Liver pate), Boeuf Bourguignon (Beef stew), Polet Rotis (Roasted Chicken), Tarte Au Citron (Lemon Tart).. All were delightfully plated and coursed well. The meal was timed well and service attentive. Another trip to the bar and bottle of Perry Cider later to accompany the desserts of Creme Brulee and Tarte Au Citron. The only kink with the meal was that the creme brulee was charred but luckily the Tarte stole the show, with a gorgeous crust and texture. If Coquette continues with a high level of service and stellar menu, I can see this getting at a mention in the Michelin guide next to round. I definitely can’t wait for another visit and try out Coquette’s Happy Hour menu.
