I ordered the bacon cheese burger, fries, cheeseburger kids meal, southwest egg rolls, and some soft drinks. The burgers were really, really good. They were fresh and flavorful. My burger was huge. I was able to eat twice off of my meal.

We walked in with a really large group and the workers were friendly and patient.

Food was delicious like always and coming from a person who does not eat hamburgers I will eat every bit of there burgers. The fried pickles are delicious to. And the price for the stuffed crab on the side well you can’t beat that at all. And food is always cooked fresh per order. If you never ate here I suggest and strongly urge you to do so today.

Since I retired to MS, it’s been over 5 years since I’ve eaten at Cooter Brown’s. The people are still just as friendly and the food is delicious! Love a hometown, laid back place to eat.

This was the first time we ordered from here. The biggest compliment that I can give is that I thought I’d never find anyone that has a roast beef Po boy close to Bear’s Restaurant in Covington. I must admit it was delicious. Only complaint I would have is that it could use just a little more meat and gravy. We also ordered the French fries and ate those before we get home.
We will be back to try the fried fish and shrimp.

First time here.Tried the oyster poboys.
Oysters were small – medium, but they had a lot on the poboy. It was really good. I was there early so there was no line or waiting.
Will be back to try something else.
Very casual place.

Read some reviews about how good the food is here, so we had to try it out. The look of the building from the outside is enough to scare off even the most adventurous of those who are hungry. To call it a “hole in the wall” joint is definitely an understatement. No frills, very plain, undecorated place outside of a few mounted fish. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and very helpful. The food ended up being just OK. Everyone that came and went during our visit all appeared to be locals. This certainly isn’t a place you’re going to find on accident from out of town. The shrimp on my poboy came out of a frozen bag and were prebattered. I can get that at any fast food place, so was very disappointed. My wife’s cheeseburger, while very thick and hearty, tasted more like processed soy meat. She compared it to a burger you’d buy at a street fair. A hamburger, shrimp poboy, eggrolls and 1 coke cost me $36. A bit much considering the less than average quality of the food. Passing through a small town where there are very few dining options, I can see how folks would rave over this place. Having eaten at plenty of other good places though, I can tell you the food here was just “OK”.

Staff was hometown friendly, large order was made quickly and she even brought our order out to us. Catfish dinner, Shrimp dinner and Ettouffe was absolutely delicious. Will plan to stop in everytime nearby. Highly recommend.

I visited Cooter Browns in Robert, La. for lunch today and I was not disappointed . The poboy was fresh and hot. I wasn’t crazy about the fries they tasted old even though they were warm . I will be going again soon

3/29/2018 – Added some pictures today from our to-go dinner order. We asked for extra crispy oysters, but got regular soggy ones. Food also seemed more oily than normal. That… and some menu price confusion gets a lowered rating.

Previously… We’ve eaten here several times. It’s a nice homey out-of-the-way seafood restaurant… but don’t let that sway you. If you’re in the area and hungry for some fried seafood… they don’t disappoint. Sometimes we order three seafood platters for pickup and eat them at home with the kids, since we live nearby. Depending on your style you might be put off a little as you’re walking in… but you’ll be pleased as you’re walking out! Don’t forget to “like” my reviews!
