Guy Fieri was right!

Who knew that some of the very best Cajun and Creole food isn’t on the bayou, but in Tallahassee, FL!

Coosh’s Bayou Rouge is my 562nd Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives location. I’m very picky about my red beans and rice ever since I acquired a recipe from an amazing creole chef named Cleophus. It’s so good! But, I have to say, Coosh’s was excellent! Usually, I have to add spice to restaurant red beans and rice. But not here. Coosh’s proprietary spice blend was great … and available for purchase … which, of course, I did!

The onion rings with their remoulade were light and tasty. And my partner loved the seafood gumbo.

The interior decor is fun. Don’t be put-off by the strip-mall exterior. Give them a try!

The food was really good ..I absolutely love the signature dipping sauce …and my favorite was the fried craw fish and the boudin balls…the gator nuggets were amazing .. the only dish that we ALL didnt like was the crawfish etouffee ….it was sweet instead of savory which is weird for crawfish etouffee…and it was over cooked… .but other than that one dish everything was delicious…if they could make the etouffee more savory with a hint of spice . .it would be good ..

This place was my least impressive Triple D spot I have been to by far. It was ok and pretty pricey for the quantity of food. And the place look to have years of neglect in up kept, cleaning, and choice of hiring. It was pretty dirty and clear signs. Dessert we good but I was hoping for a great experience.

It’s decent. They are really trying to save money at Coosh’s, and it shows. For example, the styrofoam plates we got with our appetizer were hilarious. The Caesar salad was decent, but not very attractive. The hush puppies were fried too dark I think. The catfish was tasty, but at a restaurant, I’d expect whole fish fillets not pieces. The desserts are very good. My verdict – Crystal River serves real catfish and Harry’s Seafood earns your money.

I popped in here after a long day of driving and outdoor activities. I hadn’t eaten today and I was exhausted, and Coosh’s wonderful food and hospitality was what I needed to end my day. The restaurant was mostly empty during my meal (a Tuesday evening), but the hostess and waiter were energetic and friendly nonetheless! I wish I’d remembered the waiter’s name, he was incredibly attentive and I felt well taken care of! I ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, it was super flavorful and delicious. Next time I’ll be eager to try one of their seafood dishes. Thanks to the wonderful staff I was able to enjoy my meal and go home to rest in a super timely manner. I’ll definitely be back thanks!

Came here to experience what Guy Fieri had. This place is amazing. It is a sports bar but with amazing food. The service was also amazing with Heather outdoing herself.

First time here with good friends! Loved the atmosphere and staff. The gumbo and shrimp and grits were AMAZING! Get the large gumbo and you can have a whole additional meal. We’ll be back next time we’re in Tally! Go Noles!

Had lunch today at this Restaurant. Overall it was good. The service was fast and the Servers were friendly. The decor/ food is mainly Cajun. My Husband had Gumbo, it was really good. Real Louisiana flavor. I had catfish bites that were light and flavorful. Good sweet tea. The decor is all about College schools. Probably a great place to watch college football. Fairly big place. There was some overflow/ outside seating. The staff were great. We were driving across the state. This restaurant is not right off the highway, but it was worth the detour.

I recently visited Cooshs Bayou Rouge Restaurant at 6267 Old Water Oak Rd #101, in Tallahassee, FL. I had a very good experience having lunch the other day. I say at the bar and was greeted and my drink order taken. She came back and we talked about what I should have. It was agreed that the Jambalaya pasta is a great choice. It was delicious and more than I could eat in one sitting. I need to get back there again

Red beans and rice with the spicy sausage is awesome as is everything else we’ve tried. Patio dining is dog friendly and well shaded. Every server we have had has been very attentive and helpful. The Voodoo sauce on the Voodoo Shrimp was so good, we asked if they sold it, waitress went to the kitchen and filled a bottle for us. It’s not inexpensive, but it is unique delicious food that you can’t get in just any restaurant.
