This chain does a great job of being consistent between locations. Their happy hour is one of the best valued we have seen. The seasonal menu is great and some of our favorites are the Arancini and the Sliders. We belong to the wine and really enjoy all of the perks that come with it. The staff is some of the best we have had and enjoy getting to know them! This is a regular stop for us and love it each time!

Dined: 10/12/25… We had a party of 6 celebrating a birthday. We arrived 5 mins early for our 6:30p reservation. However, our table wasn’t ready until 6:50p. The manager (Eric) was very apologetic and comped our appetizers for the inconvenience. The atmosphere was perfect for casual conversation. The food was very good but nothing was “WOW! I’d order that again…” The pretzel bread service was the best part of the meal (but slow on refills). Our server was below average (she didn’t seem like she wanted to be there) and the time it took for the drinks and food was beyond slow. We’d go back to try other dishes hoping for a “wow” factor and hope for a better server.

It was my first time here with my wife and I got to say I was very impressed. Although I didn’t have a reservation, we only waited 25 minutes at most. The food was amazing, the wine, and our server was very attentive, sweet, and amazing, her name is Leanne. Definitely coming back!

Had a phenomenal dinning experience. Called ahead and made an appointment for 6:30. Upon arriving was able to sit down within 5 minutes even though we arrived 15 minutes early. Our waiter was training a new team member but that did not in anyway affect service. The food was delicious and the portions were enough to dinner the next night. I am an member so we get quite a few things included like samples and a bottle of wine. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the staff are always amazing.

Took my husband here for his birthday. Reserved on line for lunch. We were seated immediately in a nice booth. Service was outstanding. We shared lettuce wraps that were out of this world. My husband had the shrimp scampi and I had potstickers because the lettuce wraps were generous. Salted caramel creme brulee for dessert. The wine club is promoted but you pay a monthly fee. We had a single bottle after tasting two of their wines. Served from an aerator that stands on the table. Just an unimaginable experience overall.

I can’t say enough good things about Cooper’s Hawk! Everyone was so nice and attentive even when they were busy, the food is delicious and its a great laid back comfortable atmosphere. I very much appreciated that they asked about any dietary or allergy related notes they should know it’s thoughtful gesture. My sister brought me to try some wines and grab dinner but its a great place for date night or family night. Will definitely be going back again.

The experience we had was 5 stars all the way. We arrived for a late evening dinner for our anniversary and asked to be seated in the dining room vs the bar side to keep it more romantic environment and they cleared a table in order to do so. Our server, Travis, by far, the best server I’ve ever had at any restaurant. He was all about helping us celebrate our anniversary with champagne and encouring us to try their different wines, which we had a blast doing. On top of that the chefs specials for the evening were great pics for our pallets and wrapped it up with the desert which tasted a lot like the desserts in Belgium which is where we celebrated our anniversary the year prior. By the end of the night we were thoroughly having the best time, enjoyed our servers full interaction from start to finish, left wine club members and a fresh bottle of wine to enjoy at home! Great experience and anniversary.

This specific Cooper’s Hawk is busier than my normal one. That made it super noisy for me. Our waitress stayed attentive and ensured my water was full at all times. Ha! I think I goofed her up by drinking so much water because she forgot to bring us our wine with our dinner. But I always had water! And it was needed. Great night, great service, and great food.

We greatly enjoyed our visit. Delicious food, great service, and great atmosphere. Definitely will be back!

Edit: I have searched long, having eaten in dozens of restaurants on the Valley, and Coopers Hawk may be my favorite. The food, wine, service and ambience have only been perfect. I am so happy I tried them!

Disappointed Birthday Experience at Cooper’s Hawk
It’s taken me a week to put this review together because I truly wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. This was supposed to be a special night for my sister’s 44th birthday, and I’ve gone back and forth on whether to even write this because I didn’t want to relive the disappointment — but I feel it’s important to share.
I made a reservation at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Surprise, AZ for August 13th. My sister had wanted to try it after walking in a few months ago and finding it was fully booked, so I thought this would be the perfect surprise for her.
The hosts were warm and professional — they greeted us kindly and even wished my sister a Happy Birthday, which started the evening off on a positive note. We did have to wait a little while for a booth (even though I requested and confirmed one in advance), but we didn’t mind since they handled it graciously.
Unfortunately, our dining experience went downhill from there. I lost the receipt but I believe our server’s name was Elizabeth, and we were seated at table 332 near the bar area. She never acknowledged my sister’s birthday and seemed hesitant about letting us try the complimentary wine tastings. When we found a wine we liked and requested a bottle to enjoy with dinner, instead of bringing it out, she immediately shifted into pitching the wine club. We signed up — but then the bottle of wine we wanted never arrived. My sister’s meal was served cold, and when we asked again about the wine, we were told she “wasn’t allowed” to bring it to the table. This turned out to be untrue, as we watched another server bring a bottle of wine to the couple seated behind us.
By this point, the evening felt more about signing us up for a membership than celebrating my sister’s birthday. We were never offered dessert or anything special for her birthday, and the whole experience fell flat. It was disappointing because this was meant to be a fun, memorable night for her. On the way home, my sister even said we probably should have just gone for sushi — which broke my heart since I wanted this to be special for her.
The one positive note at the end of the night came from the woman behind the wine bar. She took the time to explain the wine club clearly and assured us we could come back anytime to pick up our bottle. Her professionalism and kindness were appreciated.
Overall, while I wanted to love this place, the service left us very underwhelmed — especially for a birthday celebration. I’m not sure yet if we’ll keep our membership or give Cooper’s Hawk another try.
