After a perfect beach day with the family in Asbury Park, we were craving something sweet—but wanted to try somewhere new. We found Cookman Creamery, and wow… what a treat! Their selection of both regular and vegan ice cream is seriously impressive. I sampled a few of their vegan options and landed on a double scoop of carrot cake and cookie butter—both were absolute heaven. The flavors were rich, creamy, and full of comforting spice and sweetness. I also added a waffle cone on the side, which was the perfect crunchy touch.
I almost went for the Madagascar vanilla (which I sampled and loved!), but I didn’t want to overdo it. My husband got the mango sorbet, and it was bright, fruity, and so refreshing. My sister-in-law surprised us all by choosing the chamomile lavender—I was skeptical at first, but it ended up being a beautifully delicate and unique flavor that totally won me over.
We all agreed: this place is officially a must-stop for every family visit to Asbury Park. Cookman Creamery, you’ve got lifelong fans in us!

Not only do they have great selection of regular ice cream but also vegan ice cream! And as someone that sadly is lactose intolerant it was perfect. The vegan ice cream taste exactly like reg ice cream! The matcha was amazing!

The perfect spot for ice cream after a hot day on the beach. This spot is vegan friendly and offers some really unique flavors.
Sampled most of the menu with some friends and every flavor had rich flavors and a soft, creamy consistency.
My mix of true blueberry lavender and key lime pie were both to die for. Must try this place!

They have a very nice an unique selection of ice cream flavors. he quality is very good and they really stand out by making unique flavors and vegan options that taste good. It’s tiny but you can just go for a walk with your ice cream down Cookman Avenue.

Great ice cream! I’m not vegan but ordered the Sweet Potato flavor off the vegan fall menu because it sounded really good blended with cashew butter… It was amazing! The cashew butter makes it so creamy. Definitely returning to try the other flavors.

We drive an hour to get ice cream here, even in the winter. Amazing vegan selection that creates the same experience that non-vegans have enjoying a variety in an ice cream shop. Staff super nice and helpful. Great neighborhood to explore while you are there.

All the flavors here are absolutely delicious. Half dairy and half non dairy options. My friend and I can both have dairy but opted for non dairy flavors since they were so tasty – I got carrot cake!! Def stopping by here whenever I’m in AP

I don’t think there’s another ice cream place quite like this one. For starters, half of their ice creams are vegan, and they use all different types of non-dairy bases instead of just sticking to one. They nail all of the classic flavors while also coming up with super unique ones that you’ll never see anywhere else. I don’t know who thought of combining spirulina, SVG seamoss, blackstrap molasses, and sea salt to make a coconut-milk based ice cream, but they’re a true culinary genius and Cookman deserves like five Michelin stars for that flavor alone. Yes, I know three is the maximum number of Michelin stars an establishment can get, I said what I said. They’re also super accommodating. They’re making me a pint of one of their limited run flavors for my husband to grab for me.
