Best French fries I’ve had in years, but I did ask for “extra crispy “, no complaints or static, just happy smiles. The Cook Out style dogs with jalapeños were out of this world, I have a new favorite, they are grilled jalapeños (from fresh not pickled)

We stopped in for lunch one Saturday before a game at State. They weren’t busy at all. The service was ok at best. No one was outright rude but definitely wasn’t friendly at all. The young lady at the cash register seemed the least bit interested. The food was ok as well. Went to fix my drink and 3 out of the 4 drinks I tried were out the 4th one was out. By then I was just over it and didn’t bother with it. Next time we’re in town we will try a busier restaurant maybe the service and food will be a little better.

The reason i gave 3 stars overall…the amount of food you get just isnt worth the cost. I paid for the tray with cheese bites and a quesadilla.
I know you have to make a profit, but it had 6 little bites in there and the quesadilla barely had any cheese or meat in it. A suitable number would be 10 curds and about 50% more meat and cheese in the quesadilla considering there actually was almost none.
It’s just really getting old how you go to fast food places, spend so much and are given so little.

Out of cookout sauce. Got my order wrong after I said it to the deaf drive through girl 3 times because she wasn’t paying attention and she still got it wrong. It was literally 5 chicken quesadillas. They also forgot my drink. Terrible service all the way around.

We eat at Cookout in Starkville an average od about once a week. We have noticed the service lately is not as good as it usually is but the WORST thing we have ever seen happened in July 22, 2025-to the point I called the health inspector. After we sat down to wait for our food we noticed that the girl taking our order didn’t have on any shoes (we could see her bright green socks under the counter from the booth we sat at). She was also walking back and forth from the counter into the kitchen area, but what REALLY made it the worst was she went into the men’s restroom like that with a bucket if water to clean, we could hear her sloshing it around in there, and after a few minutes she left the bathroom and went BACK into the kitchen. I didn’t say a word to the manager because she was standing right outside the men’s restroom talking to the girl at one point during the cleaning and there is NO WAY a person could mistake her socks for shoes, so the manager obviously already knew.
***I have tried to add the picture we took of the incident but it is not showing up. Hopefully it appears later.

Excellent, friendly staff. Visited for Lunch August 25, 2025. Had a food item that subpar, but the employees approached us and replaced it. We didn’t even have to mention it. This is superb customer care. It’s rare nowadays. This is a prime reason I love coming back too cookout (well, the great food and tasty cheer wine are top reasons too).
Y’all keep up the great work!

Wow! This place has it all! Great service, amazing food and low prices! I wish I could remember the cashier’s name because she was great! She made the menu (which is huge!) very easy to figure it out. I got the 2 hotdog combo (only 7.69!!!!) came with cheesy bites which was sublime and fries that were perfect! (Wish they had the onion rings but were sold out) the sweet tea would make any southerner happy.

I went to Cook-Out after the Hardy concert at Dudy Noble on Sept 13th. When we arrived, the drive-through line was backed up past Wendy’s and the inside line snaked around all the tables to the very back.
My family and I expected to have a very long wait and likely have inaccurate food.
We were pleasantly surprised!! Not only did the line move quickly; our food was accurate and delicious and the customer service was outstanding. I knew that the team behind the counter had already been working a while and would likely be there long after we left – but they served us with a smile and didn’t seem bothered by the long lines outside and in.
Thank you to the Starkville Cook-out staff for always being someone we can count on – even at late hours of the night!

It’s down right shameful to serve “food” like this. I’ve had bad but this is a joke and seems like it’s being run by kids who don’t know how to run the place. The quesadilla was by far the worst quesadilla I’ve ever had in my life and it tasted just like a wooden pencil and it smelled like peanut butter honestly, flat nasty! I was charged almost $10 for some food. My dog wouldn’t even eat. I would have been better eating uncooked Roman noodles raw. IMO discusting is the politest way to describe the so called food I was served.
