I’m wondering why I never think of going here.
The burgers are excellent, and man of man, if you like fried okra, are you in for a treat!
You get plenty of food with your order and it’s cheaper than most places. The tray is $7.99 and I got 3 big white meat chicken strips, fries, and a bag of Doritos with meat and cheese in it (walkin taco). And a Cheer wine drink. I asked for no salt on the fries which they did right, but they didn’t give me the ketchup I asked for. Also, no utensils to eat the Doritos taco with, so that was a little too messy to eat with fingers but tasted pretty good. I asked for no sour cream which they did correct too. Overall a good experience, as this was my first time here.
The prices are great and the food is great, but the attention to detail, not so great.
This was my first time visiting this location and only my second experience with Cook Out overall. My first try was a while back when my boss ordered from the Marietta branch during a training session, and I was really impressed by the delicious charcoal flavor in the food.
With that memory in mind, I came to the Alpharetta location yesterday and even brought my husband along since he loves that smoky, charcoal taste. Unfortunately, the burgers here didn’t quite deliver on that—they tasted more like they were cooked on a standard grill.
That said, the food itself was good, the service was friendly, and we still had a nice meal. I just wish the signature charcoal flavor I remembered from before had been there, since that’s what makes Cook Out stand out.
Ease: This was my first time at a Cook Out, and while the menu is simple enough, the experience wasn’t smooth. The drive-thru was extremely slow, which is ultimately why I parked and went inside.
Speed: Once I went inside, the counter was unattended at first, but as soon as they noticed me, Lucas jumped in and provided great service. He explained the ordering process clearly and helped me quickly. Inside service was fast — drive-thru was not.
Friendly: Lucas was welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful. Great attitude. The rest of the team, however, needs some polish. Several employees were watching videos on their phones out in the lobby where customers are eating, which is unnecessarily loud and honestly pretty rude. That alone knocks the professionalism down a notch.
For just over $10, I got the Double Burger, fries, cheese tots, and a banana pudding shake — a steal. Not healthy, but absolutely tasty.
The interior, though, needs work. It feels outdated and flat. This place could really benefit from a designer’s eye for style and a builder’s attention to detail — right now it’s aesthetically dead. Also, the drink fountain belongs in the lobby, not behind the counter; I shouldn’t need to ask for refills like it’s 1992.
Shoutout to Lucas — you’re going to do well with that attitude.
