The food is pretty good for a chain, service is frequently excellent and polite, and the atmosphere… well it depends on the time of day.
Overall, the food is great. Consistency is pretty good with the basics (think cheese burgers and fried cheese curds) but it severely lacks in the milkshakes by a long shot. I haven’t got a milkshake that was well blended and at the same time, there are huge chunks of fruit that don’t go into the straw. I get it, use a spoon right? If I wanted ice cream, I would go down the road for Baskin Robins. Next, a bacon wrap sounds great if you love bacon. Except you should expect it cold, with cold shredded cheese, and what is can only guess is mayo at one end, all of which is loosely wrapped in a flour tortilla. And finally, the fries could be good if I had ever received them with a semblance of freshness. They often are moderately warm and definitely old.
Service at the counter and windows are usually quite good. The mean mug scowels from any of the staff in between the counter and windows are the thing that brings this down. If you are that disenfranchised over your job then just quit and go somewhere else. How dare I enter a fast food establishment and inconvenience you by ordering food… at your place of work.
Lastly is the atmosphere. Its in the middle of Sumter so you can draw your own conclusions.
To summarize you get my hot take: Use the drive-thru and only order food that must be cooked to order like a burger, cheese balls, and a walkin taco with a fountain drink.

We have eaten here several times and more times than not the food or whatever we’re buying is horrible..for example we wasted two whole cookout trays because we were not given a receipt to be able to return to get a refund for the undercooked french fries and the overcooked barbecue..then tonight I got $22 worth of shakes which is 5 shakes and I’ll leave a video and picture of my shake that is supposed to be a Reese’s and caramel shake..it has no taste of caramel whatsoever and there is a very very very very small amount of Reese’s in it..

Ordered and front counter person walked away as soon as she took our order, asking drive through person to make our shakes. After waiting 15 minutes for them to call our order number as they had with previous customers, I realized our food was sitting on the counter in a bag getting cold. Food was really good otherwise, and the pricing made it a good value. Most tables were dirty though, even though it was mid-afternoon and not busy at all.

I finally tried the viral cheesecake slice w/topping of choice. The topping I chose was the peach cobbler. Pretty good. The cost including tax was only $2.61 ( Sumter, SC), unbelievable. Service was friendly and fast.( Fyi, this topping is cold). It is a medium sized slice and they were not stingy with the topping. I will be back to try some of the other toppings.

A favorite chain fast food joint in our house. Burgers are decent. We also enjoy the chicken wrap ootions and bacon ranch wrap. My personal favorite place for fast food milkshakes

Oh boy, ok, I’m gonna try and keep this PG as possible. To start got the employee’s attitude has to go, you need to work on your customer communication skills. I understand that mistakes happen and orders are not always gotten right but when I repeat those special instructions not once but twice and it’s even printed on the reciept I would expect better. Now I would have let all that slide if it wasn’t for what happened next. Got home and got settled in, passed out all the food to my family, now, my wife has a habit of always looking over her food, which now I understand why. She found a bun twistie tie in her food. That’s unacceptable. This place has gone extremely down hill since its earlier days. The quality looks of something no more then an angry 4 year old threw in a box and shook violently, the portions also use to be bigger and the employees gave nearly perfect customer service, no extra attitude included.

I know times are hard but this is ridiculous. The last 3-4 times we have come to this cookout, the amount of food we get in our order keeps getting smaller and smaller. And tonight is the worst one yet. We ordered a Chicken quesadilla tray with extra sauce on the quesadillas, and a double order of white cheddar bites for the side. As you can see from the pictures there is no sauce on the quesadillas and hardly any chicken. And the amount of white cheddar bites we got is the same as what we would get with a single order. This is ridiculous, the drive thru attendant was great but whoever is working the kitchen needs to either be retrained or let go because this is terrible.

I love cookout but I cannot excuse what happened today. I ordered a quesadilla today. I took a bit and squeezed the quesadilla to expose the meat and cheese. Upon squeezing it I noticed hair in my food. Easily got disgusted and just wasted my money on this quesadilla. They need to do better with hair nets if they are even required to wear them or something because this is disgusting and unsanitary. Nobody wants to eat hair.. let alone someone else’s

First off the girl at the window named (Tierra) gave me the stank face on which i cannot stand. Anyways thats beside the point but did not help this situation bc we were starved and had not eaten since 12pm this afternoon. So we get hone and open our double quesadilla tray with double french fries. And this is what i paid $20 for. Like are you kidding me ??!! I am so heated that i can’t even eat now. Went downhill. See my double order of onion rings. 3 pieces per order.. Fries for my wife each order about 8 fries. I guess add bacon is throw it on the side of the meat mash. Very inexpensive and good, but inexpensive is key. Chicken finger club was really the best deal. Burger was a little small but seemed fresh and had good taste. If burger was same size a bun and large fries was bigger then mcd small would be 4 stars.
