First off, the food from this Cook Out is good. We’ve eaten from this place a few times and had a relatively good experience with helpful staff and kind. This go-round, whoever they had working the drive-thru and kitchen was on something or maybe they weren’t (like their meds). How do you get told an order five plus times and then stop taking the order mid order with a looong pause, then ask can you take the order like you just started? Then when we get to the window to pay and get our food, they start handing you wrong sizes and then start complaining to some other staff like we were wrong? We could literally hear the dude complaining. Finally get the right size drinks and looks like they just poured the drinks from the smaller cups into the correct size ones (if I wanted a smaller amount of drink I would’ve ordered the smaller size). My biggest complaint being who they had in the drive thru (taking…peoples…orders?). It would’ve been easier to have a child work the drive thru than the guy they did. Then the complaining about HIMSELF getting the order wrong as though we didn’t state the order five plus times, not including at the window! I’d gladly change my review if they put someone competent when it comes to working face-to-face with customers.

I strongly urge everyone especially the store manager and Cook Out management to read this entire review carefully and understand exactly what happened.
This was one of the most humiliating, degrading, and disturbing experiences I have ever had at a fast food restaurant.
On January 4 at approximately 11:03 PM, I visited the drive-thru at 1815 Sardis Rd N, Charlotte, NC 28270. From the very beginning, I was treated with hostility, disrespect, and a complete lack of basic human decency.
A young male employee working at the drive-thru window repeatedly pretended not to understand my English while I was placing my order, asking me to repeat myself multiple times. This was especially degrading because I am a long time Cook Out customer and have ordered from this exact drive-thru many times without ever experiencing a communication problem. The way this was done felt intentional, dismissive, and deeply disrespectful, and it immediately made me feel singled out.
I clearly ordered four drinks, yet I was only given two. When I politely asked for a tray or cup holder, the employee avoided eye contact, showed visible irritation, and responded in a hostile and dismissive manner. When I explained again that I had ordered four drinks, he insisted that I had only ordered two. I then paid for the remaining two drinks just to move forward.
The additional drinks were handed to me in an extremely dirty, careless, and unsanitary condition (photos attached). When I calmly asked the employee whether he would personally accept drinks prepared and handed to him in that condition, he became visibly angry. He stood at the window, said nothing, reached out aggressively, took the drinks back, and returned them in an even worse condition this time without lids on the cups, which is a serious food-safety issue and completely unacceptable.
I also want to be absolutely clear about the food order. I explicitly stated exactly what should be on the burgers, including lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. I emphasized that all orders were the same. The employee even asked me directly, “Are all the orders the same?” and I clearly responded, “Yes, please make all of them exactly the same.”
Despite this clear confirmation, the food I received was completely wrong.
When I arrived home, I discovered that one burger had no hamburger patty at all, and the double burger was missing one of its patties. This was not a misunderstanding it was complete negligence and disregard for clearly confirmed instructions.
To be clear, this is not the first time I have received incorrect or incomplete orders from Cook Out. In the past, I have been given another customer’s food, had orders miscalculated, or even been charged for a completely different customer’s order. Each time, I chose not to pursue the issue and gave the benefit of the doubt.
However, I have never experienced anything like what happened during this visit.
This incident went far beyond poor service. The behavior I experienced was deeply humiliating, degrading, and a direct insult to my dignity. The tone, body language, and treatment I received showed a complete disregard for basic human respect and crossed into demeaning and dehumanizing behavior. I left feeling belittled, disrespected, and personally violated. The way I was treated strongly came across as discriminatory, whether intentional or not.
Photos, exact date, time, and location are provided so management can review exactly what happened. I am taking this matter seriously, and this experience caused real emotional distress and a profound sense of disrespect toward my person.

I never post reviews unless I go to a really good restaurant or in this case a really bad one. First time was that they gave me a barbecue sandwich that had raw meat in it. The man who explained to me that’s how the barbecue sandwich is supposed to look like, but I’ve been to multiple cookouts and I know for a fact, they do not have any pink in them. I decided to give this place. Another chance I waited 20 minutes for the food. I didn’t mind cause they were clearly short staffed. I went to take a bite of my burger. The inside of my burger was pink. I took one bite of my burger, half a bite of one chicken nugget. And ate three fries. When she said, do you want to remake I already lost my appetite to this place. It is the second time they had tried to serve me raw food. I said no I want a refund she said, but you’ve eaten most of your food already. There was a customer next to me, and he literally said to her that food’s barely been touched. The customer needs to be also have been waiting for a long time and he also got a refund so this restaurant right here is just in trouble and avoided like the plague. The manager told me that my money would go on my card immediately and well and behold, the money is still not there. I finally got in touch with cookout customer service and she said my money is not in there by Tuesday call us back also I’ll be going back to the restaurant and demanding my money back this was absolutely terrible. I went in there for a quick bite but ended up staying at that restaurant for one hour just to walk out with nothing but an empty stomach. Avoid this location!

Where me and my Fiancé are from, the food here would be triple the price. Got a double burger tray with cheese curds and slaw and it was pretty good. For $7.99, you really can’t beat it. Stop here for a quick meal even when it’s busy! In and out in less than 10 minutes for our To-go order. On top of that, Christian music station was on. Loved it! Thanks 🙂

The lady who took my order was very rude today. I asked for ranch and she threw it in the car. She handed me my peanut butter Oreo milkshake completely unmixed after I had asked her to mix it and it looks like a straight vanilla milkshake. Very unsatisfied! These people who come get food are paying your bills and you’re rude to them? Yall need to rethink who you have hired!

Fast food at its best!
So friendly and nice to the guests (not at all the norm, am I right?)
And the tea is great!

Wrong drink twice, additionally forgot to give me the vanilla shake. Came back to get the shake and it had brown stuff inside the lid. Employee told me it was fine, likely just peanut butter… Hush puppies melted the foam container so we basically ate melted plastic. Not a good meal

Charged me twice for a meal I never got and did nothing to fix the situation. Will never go back to this location and telling everyone I know not to either. Horrible service. They just told me to call the 1-800 number and I just got a voicemail. Left my number but not expecting anything. Its clear that customer retention is not their priority at this location

I never come back here. The worse store, employees extremely disrespectful and sounds like they act like a racism once they saw the foreigner and trying to make the most diss organize trays. Pure drinks like take it off the washing machine or just full of ice. I got a burger without any meat and they just put tomatoes and sauce. I did not open the package there I saw it once I got home after 15 miles at night. Never ever came back there again.
