It is open late and have a super fast drive thru service. They must be just cranking out the food. The burgers are great only difference between the 2 and the normal is if you want smash burgers or not. I definitely recommend getting the wraps for sides.

I adore cook out and appreciate the cheap eats, but for the past 4 or so times I’ve gone to this particular location, even though I’ve been very clear, slow, and patient with ordering, my order ends up always wrong. Which hey, I get it – the staff who showed up is overworked, underpaid, and there until probably 4am, but at least work with me kindly in making it right while I do the same for y’all.

The service was not the best. They hurried my food out of the window without even looking my direction. I tried twice to ask for condiments, but the person at the window didn’t even seem to acknowledge me. After receiving my food, I was waiting to again ask for condiments, and when the person walked back over to the window they looked annoyed that I was still there. Definitely a negative experience in comparison to any other Cook Out I’ve been to.

Former Captain Ds is now a rare Cook Out with a dining option that is open until 9pm in Short Pump and drive through open after midnight. Food is plentiful and fresh at very reasonable prices. NC BBQ, onion rings, Cheerwine, and Corn dogs are excellent and fries similar to 5 Guys. Don’t order the world’s smallest cole slaw side order.

The food wasn’t worth the price. They say a double burger is $3.99 and I got 2 and a large fry at $3.99. They nickel and dime for condiments and the large fry is actually small. Double burgers are both together smaller than the bun. I paid $13+ total. Not worth it. I should have ate at home or went to McDonald’s.

The food is usually on point, hot, and ready very quickly. The employees have always been friendly to me. That said, they have messed up my order a few times or given me the wrong one (I don’t immediately check, so it’s often by the time I’m at home that I discover this). They have their off days (soggy fries, shake spilling over, etc.) but 9 times out of 10 I am satisfied with my meal.

*trigger warning* I vomited within 30 min of eating it. I should’ve went with my gut instincts (literally ), the ordering process was very difficult the young man sounded like he was high. He was very erratic my husband had to repeat the order OVER 5 times! We pulled up to the window…It was mayhem, at least 8 people in that bagging/window area very congested and sweaty. I immediately thought we should probably just leave…No one looked clean..I saw 2 guys wearing gloves but honestly it just didn’t look hygienic in there. I should’ve left but I didn’t… I ate my cookout style hotdog on the way home and when I got home I ate my BBQ plate ( chopped Q, hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries) within 15 minutes of finishing, I became clammy, dizzy and my stomach hurt… and then I released. I was going to post the large orange grease stain on my white rug but didn’t want to freak anyone out. It seems to be happening a lot lately businesses just don’t have great customer service like they used too.. I’ve eaten at many COOKOUTS over the past 4 years with no major issues BUT in the last year I’ve had 3 bad experiences with them…I think I’m done.
