This was my first time trying Conte’s. We drove an hour and a half to try their pizza after reading all the reviews and watching one bite pizza review online. It is located in the back of a large home that was converted into a restaurant, along with another business. They have a large bar area with TV screens and seating which seems comfortable, but the table and dining area is very basic and sort of had a cafeteria feel to it. The entire restaurant has a very dated feel to it and the entire restaurant looks neglected. The hallway to the bathrooms had visible clutter lacking any concern as to how it may look to new customers . The tables also need to be wiped down better as it looked hastily done. Maybe that’s why they have hand sanitizer on every table. Menu is very simply with limited items so we expected mind blowing pizza since their only focus would be making great pizza. We ordered a simple salad which was just ok and a large pie, half plain and half olives and mushrooms. The pizza was thin and the plain side was okay but we were surprised that the mushroom side had canned mushrooms instead of fresh mushrooms. The pizza would have been so much better if they went the extra step to use fresh mushrooms. It took the entire experience down a few notches for us. I think the pizza was ok but not worth driving from far away to try it Pizza was just ok for a bar style pie.

I had heard so much about Conte’s Pizza from a NJ native who had been going for all his life, and got a takeout of one large sausage and pepperoni pizza.
The pepperoni was very unique (in a good way) in that I’ve never had this style before having tried a lot of pizzas in different countries. The sausage was crumbled evenly and the pizza base had a nice crust. Would love to go get some pizza again

The best pizza near campus in my opinion. With a short bike ride, Conte’s pizza looks and tastes amazing. I loved their plain and pepperoni pizzas, as well as its nice under carriage. Will be coming back a lot in the spring!

Excellent old school bar and pizzeria in Princeton, New Jersey. Thin crust pizza with a good crunch and a nice char. I had the plain pie and the supreme with all the toppings (see photo), and both were exceptional. Friendly service at the bar or nearby tables. Highly recommended.

Classic hang out spot. Busy saturday evening. Full of people game on big tv. Pizza very floppy yet crispy, like you need to fold it or support the end of the pie super crispy crust very greasy.

Larry the bartender is great. He was polite and my drink was perfect.

Pizza- thin crust light sauce and cheese. I had a plain with FRESH garlic
Ambiance- dark, plenty of seats, 3 large tv screens by the bar and mo background music.
Parking- plenty in the back of the restaurant.
Service- VERY “old school” you seat yourself, order before you sit or an older waitress will come to your table . No happy hour or lunch specials. Pay via waitress/at the bar. You have to ask for water while you wait.

Basically a local place to eat where they know you. No fuss, simple pizza no frills. They will occasionally check on you.
FYI IT LOOKS LIKE A HOUSE! In case you ride pass it. You will see school busses in the parking lot just to give you a heads up.

A staple in the Princeton community – every visit I get a large pie and it’s delicious. Going there know it’s bar vibes but family friendly.

Met up with old friends and decided that although we had changed in the past fifty years, this place was still the same. Pizzas were still thin crust burn blistered on the bottom reasonably tasty pies. Salad was still iceberg lettuce with chunks of tomato. A far better place for company than for the food

I saw this place on Dave Portnoys One Bite and I knew I had to check it out. The pizza was quite good and crispy but I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best in the country. Its definitely worth a try, the vibes were immaculate.

Came here to celebrate end of math camp that my husband was teaching. He loved this place during undergrad, and brought me there to experience for the first time. It was absolutely slammed when we got there. The staff is quite nice. We were rushed to order (while we were still waiting on a table) since they were so busy so it’s understandable. I did get dirty silverware but chose to ignore it as we’re eating pizza, don’t need any of that. But I went to use the women’s restroom and there a was a huge guy in there washing his hands. I did a double take and backed out of the bathroom to make sure I walked into the right one. Yep, he’s in the wrong one. Anyway, food was great, the pizza was absolutely delightful, will return for some of the best pizza I’ve had in the tristate area.
