This has truly been a staple breakfast and lunch spot for my family for years! The food is consistently very good, and service is usually quick — though it can occasionally slow down during peak times.
It does get pretty crowded, and finding seating can be difficult when it’s busy, but that’s usually a sign of how popular it is. Overall, it’s absolutely a must-do when you’re staying at or visiting the Contemporary!

Came here looking for the Cookie Dough Croissant, but unfortunately it may have been too late so I shifted over to a cookie I saw in the display window.
The Kitchen Sink Cookie was so soft and delicious! It had caramel, chocolate, pretzels…all perfectly worked together in this surprisingly delicious cookie. Would definitely get it again when I am back with a cookie craving at Contemp Cafe.
Service was simple and fast. The atmosphere is basically as the name says – it’s like a cafeteria vibe so nothing to rave about but when you need something fast, this is a good spot.

Best turkey sandwich I ever ate with delicious home made chips. The rice bowl and roast beef sandwich were very good too. Pleasantly surprised at food quality. They need more checkout lanes open in the morning though.

We had a good experience for lunch. We ate in the dining room. Kierston rang up our order, She was very nice and helpful. She said there wasn’t a charge for a cup of ice for water, We were pleasantly surprised for a tourist place like Disney not charging. We order toasted turkey sandwiches and fries. It was very good. Here’s the good service reason for 5 stars. We waited about 25 minutes, and our food never showed. There was only a handful of customers in the dining room. We never said anything, but Kierston came over and said the kitchen must have lost our order and asked for our receipt. She came back a few minutes later with 2 large cookies, she apologize and said these were complimentary for us because of how long our food was taken. About 5 minutes later, our food was brought to us. I’ve owned a restaurant for 26 years, and this is what I would expect my employees to do. Great customer care! Kudos to Kierston!
Oh! BTW… It’s pretty cool to watch the monorail glide through the hotel while you are eating.

OMG – Old Man Gaming
We stayed at bay lake for a night on our way down to Vero beach, and to maximize our stays we got the quick service dining plan. For a one night visit it makes sense if you continue to stay on property as the mugs alone make up for half the cost of the plan.
So for lunch we headed to contemporary Cafe, we all had some pretty ok food, the flatbread and patty melt were the clear winners, but the burger and the Italian sub were pretty ok too.
Finding a seat here can be a challenge, especially if you like to eat at traditional meal times, so plan accordingly.
For dinner we were still stuffed from lunch, so we just had cinnamon rolls and used a snack credit, essentially anything over $7 is where the sweet spot lies for snack credit usage. Anyways, the cinnamon rolls were good, but they were not warmed as advertised, so I took a star off cos I’ve been up since 4am and drove 7 hours to get here, you could of warmed my darn cinnamon roll.
Also atmosphere sucks, so many angry grumpy people, it’s disney for goodness sake, but God forbid you get a soda before someone or reach over to use the mug wash… oh well, breakfast will be fun.

One of the more unique spots to grab a bite to eat. This one is at the Contemporary resort, which is known for the fact that the Disney monorail trains drive right through the middle of the hotel. This restaurant has some really good simple eats like a chicken sandwich and some flat bread pizza. And it’s got a great view to watch the monorail pull in and out of the hotel!

This is a fast food style restaurant that takes place in the main lobby of the Contemporary Resort. You can see the Grand Canyon mural and the monorails passing by. The service was quick and friendly with our orders.
The food here consists of American food and flatbreads. The spicy chicken sandwich for lunch has a good taste, but the fries were just okay. The chili cheese corn dogs were definitely innovative, but may not be up to everyone’s standards. Overall, would come for the atmosphere.

Cafe inside of the Contemporary hotel that offers good-portioned food. We had the 7 oz Contempo burgers that were delicious and the salt and pepper fries had good flavor. We also really liked the desserts, especially the flourless chocolate cake.
Unfortunately, their vegan options aren’t the best with their grilled tofu bowl having flavorless tofu and a weird mix of beans, rice, and other vegetables.
The staff are incredible, as most Disney cast members are, but I wish there were more reusable silverware, dishes, and condiment stations that weren’t packaged.
