There are beautiful windpw views inside the Conservatory which you can see the Melbourne Aquariun across the Yarra River. The closest carpark is the multi level. Take the lift and after reaching level 1, turn slightly left then it’s about 15 mins walk to the restaurant.
We selected the 5.30 – 8pm session. At once stage, there was a long queue at the warm servery area. I made a mistake of piling up my plate with too much food (to save from queuing up again) and some of my food went cold. But actually I had plenty of time.
Perfect roats! The wasabi sauce/paste wasn’t beatted long enough for the stronger, more pungent flavours (heat) to come through. Also, it would have been great if they had some sort of rice paper rolls back which they did about 10 months ago.
2 entrances for the Multi-level carpark are:
28 Haig St, Southbank VIC 3006
33 Clarke St, Southbank VIC 3006
I hope this helps.
That said, a few small points could be improved:
1. The website doesn’t mention clearly which parking area to use. We parked in the multi-storey car park and ended up walking nearly 15–20 minutes to reach the restaurant.
2. We didn’t know that window seats need to be requested about two months in advance — it would be helpful if this was mentioned online.
3. Even though it’s quite an expensive dining experience, guests still need to pay for parking, which feels a bit unreasonable.
4. The grace time is listed as 15 minutes, and we arrived exactly that early, but we still had to wait outside for the table to be prepared.
Overall, the experience was fantastic and memorable — the food and service were well worth it, and I’d happily return. Just a little more clarity on the website and a few small improvements would make it absolutely perfect.
Buffet in the heart of Melbourne with a stunning waterfront view, what a perfect way to indulge the interior is gorgeous with high ceilings and marble floors, such a luxurious vibe here.
The variety of food is great! Roasted dishes (beef, pork belly, duck etc), cold selections like sushi, ham & cheese, Chinese cuisine, fresh seafood and a generous dessert spread. And yes, there are TWO chocolate fountains, one classic chocolate and one pink (white chocolate).
Service was incredible, plates were consistently cleared, water refilled without asking and food was always fresh and replenished when nearly empty. Everything was spot on.
5/5 an unforgettable dining experience!
Good variety of Asian and Western dishes which includes an amazing carving live station that offered beef and pork.
Obviously had multiple stops to the dessert station to see the iconic chocolate fountain.
Vegetarian options are a bit limited as well, but if you’re not too restricted with your diet, this is definitely a go-to spot. We’ll certainly plan to visit again—if only for the beautiful ambiance, cozy atmosphere, and perfect setting for a relaxed night out with family.
On the hour from 6, they have huge columns of fire which is awesome to see! The atmosphere is amazing, I love the interior architecture.
The waiters are fantastic at clearing the table, sometimes too good, I recommend putting finished food to the side and keeping food you want to continue eating in the middle.
I’ve read a few reviews saying the range isn’t great, and I do agree if we’re being very very critical, the crown buffet in Perth has 3 times the range with a whole corner for dumplings alone, however the beautiful interior and view of the Yarra make up for it.
If you’re looking for good quality and range of food, go elsewhere, but if you just want a beautiful place with beautiful views and plenty of food to eat, this is the place. It’s so so so beautiful in there!
I recommend getting in there at 5 and on a weekday as it does start to get very busy on weeknights and past 7pm. There’s a long waiting cue during those times. When we went, it was lovely and just about empty which was very nice.
Also if you register with crown rewards and you’ll get free parking, just need to go inside the casino to get your card printed. Saved $20 so I recommend it!
Probably won’t come again, it’s great for the experience and aesthetic, but none of the food was mind blowing. Good place to take someone to wow them and a place to dress up. You can wear anything from a floor length gown or sweatpants and hoodie. It’s a fun dress code!
Myself and 10 work mates came here from Geelong to have our team’s Chrissy lunch. Best. Chrissy. Lunch. Ever.
Not merely because of the quality of food. Not merely because of the volume of food. Not merely because of the value for money. Not merely because of all staff were so professional-looking in their black and whites and professional-being in their serving. Not merely because the tables were set out so well. Not merely because of the number of guests didn’t overwhelm the serving stations as stations were spacious and spaced apart.
I ate pretty much half the menu by dint of entree-sized. I didn’t eat anything off the cheese / seafood station. I’m not much of a seafood guy and by the time I was mentally ready to eat cheese, my tummy was pleading for ultimate mercy.
My first meal was from the carvery. My second meal duck broth, vego gyoza, crispy fatty pork. My third meal roast beef, ravioli and four cheese pizza. My fifth meal was icecream, brownies and a teacup donut. My sixth meal was calamari and penne pasta. My seventh meal was rice, tandoor chicken and butter chicken. And my final meal was more icecream and a panecotta.
My favs were two things I ate twice: roast spuds and chocolate icecream (not together).
Wrecked. I am writing this 9 hours after eating and I won’t be eating until breakfast tomorrow.
We were there from 12 to about 1420 (finishing our drinks).
